CWC SouthAfrica150Couch Critic previews this weekend's international cricket including the T20 between West Indies and Australia and the ODI's between England and Pakistan and Ireland and South Africa including his best bets with @Olimp_SA

There is some cracking cricket action to look forward to this weekend. The Windies keep their T20 campaign on the go, this time against the visiting Aussies. A fresh-faced English ODI outfit will look to keep the momentum going against Pakistan in the 2nd ODI of their series whilst the Proteas also get a chance to put in a dominant showing against the Irish.

WEST INDIES vs AUSTRALIA 1st T20I – Sat 10 July @ 01:30, St Lucia

Having suffered a disappointing T20 series loss to SA the Windies have a chance to bounce straight back against the visiting Aussies. The men from Down Under should be ultra-competitive but I give the home side the edge in the first game since they are well and truly in the short format rhythm at this stage.

Mitch Marsh has been mentioned to bat higher up the order so there could be some value to exploit there. It’s tough predicting which of the swashbuckling Caribbean’s will clear the fence the most but the opener has been in good hitting form, so Lewis it is. Pollard is a reluctant bowler but often the home pitches suit his cutter style and there is always the possibility that he will pitch in with a significant innings.

Top Aus Bat: MR Marsh @ 7.00

Player to score most sixes: E Lewis @ 6.00

Man of the Match: KA Pollard @ 15.00

ENGLAND vs PAKISTAN 2nd ODI – Sat 10 Jul @ 12:00, London

Cardiff proved a nightmare for the Pakis as Mahmood took their top order apart for fun. The second ODI moves to Lord and the visitors will need to shake off that poor first effort to overcome a fresh-faced English side who will have a pep in their step after the opening encounter.

I’m expecting the men in green to bounce back with Shaheen Afridi leading the charge. Malan looked steady as a rock at the top of the order so I believe he is the man to back in the home ranks.

Top Eng Batsman: DJ Malan @ 3.75

Man of the Match: S Afridi @ 15.00

IRELAND vs SOUTH AFRICA 1ST ODI – Sun 11 Jul @ 11:45, Dublin

From the Caribbean the Saffas head to Dublin for a three match ODI series. The Irish could find it tough to handle the big SA quicks but I can’t move away from backing the man in the form of his life at present – Shamsi. With the willow the skipper will bat high up and should be keen to get some good runs under his belt.

Top SA Bat: T Bavuma @ 4.50

Man of the Match: T Shamsi @ 15.00
