NRL ROUND 20 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY MATCHES
Let’s take a look at the weekend’s action in Round 20 of the NRL.
DRAGONS vs RABBITOHS – Sat 31 Jul @ 07:00, Rockhampton
It’s a case of no Dufty no love from me in this one. The Bunnies have been scoring at will over the past month and its hard to see this change against a Dragons side who are right on the Top 8 bubble at present. Top try-scoring Alex Johnson might be missing for Souths but with Reynolds and Walker pulling the strings the backs should still rock on in Rockhampton!
KNIGHTS vs RAIDERS – Sat 31 Jul @ 09:30, Brisbane
The Raiders are on a three-match winning streak whilst Newcastle limp into this one off the back of 2 losses. Bradman Best and David Klemmer return for the Knights but Canberra will have Whitehead and Wighton to call on. I’m expecting the men in green to take control at Suncorp.
STORM vs PANTHERS – Sat 24 Jul @ 11:35, Brisbane
It’s the top of the table clash at Suncorp which will likely decide the Minor Premiership. The Melbourne side come into the game as overwhelming favourites despite a sticky game against the Cowboys last week. Penrith have been able to keep themselves at the sharp end of the pack but haven’t been the same side over the past month or so. Without Cleary the Panthers have lost some of their fierceness. Unfortunately the bookies have given us little value to play with here.
BULLDOGS vs TITANS – Sun 01 Aug @ 06:00, Gold Coast
The Bulldogs have shown some growl at times but for the most part they have lacked the bite. The Titans are still pushing for that Top 8 spot and have plenty of try scoring capability. I can’t see the “home side” missing the opportunity of claiming another victory on Sunday.
SHARKS vs SEA EAGLES – Sun 01 Aug @ 08:05, Redcliffe
This promises to be an entertaining affair. Manly have enjoyed putting plenty past a number of opponents but the Sharks should fire some shots of their own with their two lethal finishing wingers on board. No Magic Johnson of course has me backing the team playing with Turbo power but mostly I fancy a high scoring affair!
