CRUSADERSCouch Critic previews Crusaders v Force and Reds v Blues in Trans Tasman Super Rugby Round 4 including best bets and tryscorer specials with @Olimp_SA

The Aussies showed a touch more fight last week (apart from the Force who were dismal) but the competition is nearing it’s end and it seems to be a race between the Kiwi teams as to who is going to make it into the playoffs…

Crusaders vs Force – Friday 04 June @ 09:05, Christchurch

How much is enough? The Force failed to fire a shot against the Canes last week and many are fearing the worst for the Westerners this weekend as they make the trip to Mordor. Despite the fact that coach Robertson has shown some pity on the visitors by resting Mo’unga I still see this as a mismatch between hobbits and giants – and the ending isn’t as pretty as a Tolkien would have preferred it. The cap is a high one but I certainly won’t be wagering any funds in favour of the Forceless ones.

Betolimp Bets:

Last Tryscorer: Josh McKay @ 13.00

Imagine being Josh McKay. Even with Sevu Reece and George Bridge cooling their heels this week he still only gets a gig as substitute. I’m expecting the winger to come on hungry and focussed to show his mettle.

Reds vs Blues – Friday 204 June @ 13:45, Brisbane

The Blues will know full well that a comprehensive victory in Brisbane will all but secure their spot in the final with only a home game against the impotent Force to come. The Reds however will be full of confidence after doing justice to their Super Rugby title by becoming the first (and currently only) Australian team to enjoy a Trans-Tasman success.

When red and blue mixes one gets purple and that is exactly what the bodies of these players will start to look (and feel) like by the conclusion of Round 4 of this comp. The visitors have rotated their personnel well and now have Mark Telea, Patrick Tuipulotu and Dalton Papali’I to call on at this crucial stage of the tournament. I could very well see the New Zealand side kick on and run away with things but I still see a touch of value about a Reds side playing their last home game of the season and wanting to end a successful 2021 on a final home high.

Betolimp Bets:

HT/FT: Reds/Bues @ 5.60

Suliasi Vunivalu (Reds) to score the first try and Reds to win the game @ 31.00

Last Tryscorer: Hoskins Sotuto @ 23.00

Best Bet Friday Double:

Crusaders -23.5 onto Reds +13.5 @ 1.82
