Football Liverpool120Our English Premier League treble for Saturday 1st February includes tips for Bournemouth v Aston Villa, Liverpool v Southampton and Newcastle v Norwich with the odds boosted by @Olimp_SA

We had no joy in the FA Cup last weekend with just 1 of the 3 legs arriving and our record now stands at 4 successful trebles from 11 attempts. It's back to the Premier League this week and we keep the same match result, over 2.5 goals and both teams to score format. All 3 legs take place on Saturday and the odds have been boosted to 8.00.

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

This is a game of high stakes at the wrong end of the table with Bournemouth occupying third bottom position at the time of writing and Villa are just 2 points better off.

Although Bournemouth were knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal on Monday night Premier League survival is the sole priority and they gave themselves a boost in winning their most recent league fixture 3-1 at home to Brighton. Prior to that victory Bournemouth had lost 5 and drawn 1 of the previous 6, clean sheets are hard to find but they now bid to complete the double over Villa whom they beat 2-1 away from home earlier in the campaign.

Villa were not in FA Cup action last weekend and they return to the fold looking to build on a 1-1 draw at Brighton followed by a 2-1 win at home to Watford. Their away record comprises of 2 wins, 2 draws and 8 defeats with 15 goals scored and 24 conceded. That sort of total goals average would do nicely here as this game is our pick for over 2.5 goals.

Prediction: Over 2.5 total match goals

Liverpool v Southampton

A much changed Liverpool side battled to keep League 1 side Shrewsbury at bay in the FA Cup last week but as far as the league is concerned their progress towards the title remains relentless. They were pushed hard by Wolves in an away fixture last week, eventually coming through with a 2-1 win but Liverpool had kept clean sheets in each of the previous 7 league games. Liverpool are due to visit West Ham in midweek, but it doesn't change our thinking here.

Southampton came away from Crystal Palace with an excellent 2-0 victory in their most recent league outing to make it 5 wins from the last 7. They have won each of their last 4 road trips including visits to Leicester and Chelsea. A trip to Anfield is another step up but the Saints made Liverpool work hard for a 2-1 win at St. Mary's early in the season. Liverpool's defensive record is formidable but we fancy the visitors can contribute to the scoring given they are in excellent shape and no longer in danger of relegation.

Prediction: Both teams to score

Newcastle v Norwich

We finish at St. James Park where we pin our hopes on a home win. Talk in the media of a prospective takeover will no doubt be welcomed by Newcastle fans and although the team struggled in the FA Cup against Oxford last weekend, they do boast some useful Premier League home form. Chelsea were beaten 1-0 here recently, 1 of 5 home wins for Steve Bruce's side this season.

Norwich are 6 points adrift at the bottom the log and with just 5 points to show from 12 road trips they have the worst away record in the top flight. Norwich have registered just 6 league goals on their travels whilst conceding 22 and whilst they continue to give it their all, they could be in for a long afternoon on Tyneside.

Prediction: Newcastle to win
