Football ManCity120@ZAPunter provides his betting tips for the English Premier League match between Everton and Manchester City which takes place on Saturday 28th September

EVERTON VS MANCHESTER CITY, SATURDAY @ 18.30

Everton welcome Manchester City to Goodison Park on Saturday as manager Marco Silva looks to put a difficult past 2 weeks behind him. The Toffees won away at Sheffield Wednesday in the League cup, but have lost 3 out of their last 4 Premier League matches. Silva is already under pressure and needs a morale boosting victory. Manchester City were also successful in the League Cup winning away against Preston North End. Their last Premier League game was an 8-0 home victory over Watford and it looks like the Citizens are firing on all cylinders. In the last 14 meetings between these two clubs, Everton only managed 2 victories, so they will know the task at hand won’t be easy. Silva has lost all 5 his matches against Guardiola and will want to turn it around this weekend. Manchester City is chasing Liverpool in the Premier League title race after a draw against Tottenham and a shock away defeat against Norwich.

EVERTON:

Everton has been so frustrating for bettors and fans this season, respectable performances, but unable to get results. Everton has lost their last 2 matches in the league and their last defeat at home to Sheffield United had fans really angry. The club has spent a lot of money on building a squad, but they players have been unable to produce so far under Silva. The end product has been lacking this season and they have been struggling to create good chances. Their xGf is 1.39 and xGa 1.2, a team with so much quality going forward should do better. The Toffees will once again be without midfielders Gomes and new signing Gbamin. Everton will simply need to improve or they won’t be finishing in the top 6 this season and Silva could lose his job sooner rather than later.

MANCHESTER CITY:

The Citizens are rolling again and poor Watford felt the full force last weekend. Pep Guardiola demanded a response after their shock defeat to Norwich City and that’s exactly what he got. They are once again in a 2 horse title race with Liverpool and every match will be important for them to win the league title. City has been excellent going forward, but have conceded a few more goals than people expected. This weekend they will once again be without Stones and Laporte. Their expected goals statistics are: 3.39 xGf and 1.07 xGa, they have been unstoppable going forward, but on average concede 1 goal per game. City will be well prepared going into this match and it’s difficult to predict their starting 11 as they have so much talent.

PREDICTION:

It’s that time again, the best bet is here. Late kick-off, Goodison Park rocking, City’s makeshift defence and the desperation of the Toffees, I think Everton will score this weekend and City scoring looks like a given these days. Everton has been struggling so far this season and in the fixture, but it all can change in 90min of football. The statistics and trends are most likely against us in this one, but that’s why I like it even more. Everton will step up on Saturday and give City may be their toughest test of the season so far. I really like the price on this bet and I’m sure it will drift in our favour before kick-off. Let’s make it 7-0!
