EVERTON VS WEST HAM, SATURDAY @ 13:30

Everton will be hoping to find much needed form this weekend when they welcome West Ham to Goodison Park. The Toffees have lost their last 4 league games and are currently in the relegation zone. West Ham are currently in 8th position and will be hoping to put added pressure on Silva this weekend, who is currently the favourite manager to be sacked in the Premier League. Before the season, fans were optimistic about Everton’s chances of finishing in the top 6, but only 7 points from all their matches has everyone around the club scratching their heads. West Ham are only 2 points away from the top 4 and the fans are finally seeing the club’s investments and faith in Pellegrini paying off. West Ham has been excellent on the road this season and will be confident the trend can continue against an under performing Everton.

EVERTON:

Everton without any doubt has enough talent to get out of the relegation zone and challenge for the top 6, but the performances have been terrible and all the blame is shifting towards Silva. Everton has a very young and talented team and the board was very confident in the managerial abilities of Silva, but the teams have been struggling, especially against teams that are less talented. Everton’s Expected Goals: xGf – 1.56 and xGa – 1.32, compared to their actual goals you can call them unlucky. They should score more than double their goals and conceded less. Does it turn around for them after the international break? Club captain Coleman has been ruled out through suspension and Gbamin is still a long term absentee.

WEST HAM:

West Ham is finally living up to their potential, but still finds ways to lose against teams they should put away, like their home game against Crystal Palace. They looked to have finally found their lead striker in Haller and they will be hoping he scores against Everton. West Ham enjoys playing on the break away from home and they will do it once again this weekend. Their Expected goals this season: xGf – 1.56 and xGa – 2.05. Their games should have had more goals if you look at those statistics and they are giving away too many scoring opportunities for the opposition. Long term absentees for West Ham include Fabianski, Antonio and Reid.

PROBABLE LINE-UPS:

Everton: 4-2-3-1

Pickford,

Sidibe, Keane, Holgate, Digne,

Schneiderlin, Gomes,

Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Iwobi,

Calvert-Lewin.

West Ham: 4-5-1

Jiminez,

Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Cresswell,

Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Rice, Noble, Anderson,

Haller.

PREDICTION:

I expect goals in this one and from both teams. Everton are desperate for a result and West Ham will be hoping that desperation leads to opportunities on the counter attack. Both team’s strengths are up front and both have key players missing at the back. The market also expects goals here and hopefully we can start off Saturday with a winner!
