kkr2019Couch Critic previews the betting for the Indian Premier League matches taking place on Sunday 28th April including Delhi Capitals v Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders v Mumbai Indians

DELHI CAPITALS vs ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE (Sunday, 28 April – 12:30)

Setting the Scene: Delhi have surprised many by being at the sharp end of the table whilst the it has been equally surprising for many to see the RCB right at the foot of the log. In the reverse fixture the men from Bangalore could only chalk up 149 and the Capitals had little trouble in chasing it down. DC have won their last two matches.

Let’s Talk Tactics: Delhi have enjoyed great returns form their strong Indian top order – Shaw, Dhawan, Iyer and Pant. Rabada has led the attack with incredible success and is still far and away the leading wicket taker.

Where the top order has consistently delivered runs for their opponents the Royal Challengers have struggled for consistent runs from their batters, but as per usual it has been the shortcomings in their bowling unit that has seen them struggle in 2019. Chahal has been the lone Challenger in this regard.

A 160-odd score has been the norm at the Kotla and in the previous three games the highest score is 168.

Verdict: For a change I think there is some value in the outright market. RCB don’t have Steyn or Ali and Delhi have been in good form. I will take the hosts for the win. Against a weak RCB bowling attack I will back Delhi to get a good few sixes over the rope. Lastly I will stick with Rabada to keep knocking over the pegs.

Bets:

To win the match – Delhi @ 1.91

Team sixes – Delhi Capitals over 4.5 @ 2.00

Man of the Match – Rabada @ 13.70

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS vs MUMBAI INDIANS (Sunday, 28 April – 16:30)

Setting the Scene: KKR have taken a tumble down the ladder after a brisk start to the tournament whilst Mumbai have been up-down but remain firmly in the mix, sitting in third place. This will be the first meeting between these two teams.

Let’s Talk Tactics: Kallis’ KKR have gotten to a stage where they just can’t buy a win. The bowling unit has really struggled pegging back opponents.

Mumbai have been able to rely on a fighting effort from a number of their squad. De Kock has often contributed to a fast start and Sharma comes off a good knock. SuryakumarYadav has also looked good whilst the Hardik and Pollard combo add some fire power lower down. As with the batting the Indians have had a mix of players sticking their hands up with the ball Chahar, Bumrah and the Pandya’s have also added value.

The Kolkata wicket has produced a 200 a piece game and can be seen as good for batting.

Verdict: We have some proper six hitters faxing each other on aground that has delivered a lot of runs so I’m getting in on the sixes market here.Bumrah and Malinga have done their usual thing but I’ve been impressed with Chahar and will back him to be amongst the wickets. My usual play on Yadav will also feature.

Bets:

Total number of match sixes – over 15.5 @ 2.00

Top Mumbai bowler – RD Chahar @ 5.00

Top Mumbai batsman – SA Yadav @ 5.50
