spurs1718We look to three televised matches from the English Premier League and Serie A for this weekend's football treble with the odds boosted by @Olimp_SA

We were 1 leg away from landing last week's treble. Fiorentina and Atalanta both found the net, over 2.5 goals arrived in the Juventus v Verona game but our match result pick of Villarreal to win at Valladolid let the side down as the game ended in a draw. Our record now stands at 4 successful trebles from 13 attempts and after making a very profitable start to this weekly feature we are now overdue a return to the winners enclosure.

With another reduced Premier League coupon we look to Italy's top flight for 2 legs of our treble. The match result, over 2.5 goals and both teams to score format is retained, all 3 matches take place on Sunday 16th February and the odds have been boosted to 7.00

Aston Villa v Spurs

In terms of the battle to avoid relegation Villa are just about keeping their heads above water, 1 point above the drop zone. They come into this game after facing 2 fellow strugglers which delivered a 2-1 win at home to Watford followed by a defeat at Bournemouth by the same scoreline. Villa have won 5, drawn 2 and lost 5 of their home games and teams who have claimed all 3 points from visits to Villa Park include Manchester City, Leicester and Liverpool.

Spurs are back in the race for a top 4 finish after back to back wins in home games against Norwich and then Manchester City. Truth be told their away record of 2 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats this season would hardly inspire you to include the visitors in your weekend multiple. However having beaten City to close the gap on fourth place Chelsea to just 4 points, anything other than a win here would surely be seen as a step backwards.

Spurs were 3-1 winners when the teams met in London at the start of the season and they get the vote to get the better of Villa once again.

Prediction: Spurs to win.

Serie A Sampdoria v Fiorentina

Sampdoria came away from Torino with a much needed 3-1 win last weekend. The victory saw them move 4 points clear of the drop zone and within 2 points of their opponents here. Although a home game against Sassuolo last month ended 0-0 other results from the last 5 league outings have delivered a deluge of goals with Sampdoria winning 5-1 at home to Brecia, losing 5-1 at Lazio and 4-2 at home to Napoli before the 3-1 win at Torino.

Fiorentina lost 2-1 at home to high flying Atalanta last weekend. Their away record comprises of 3 wins, 3 draws and 5 defeats with 14 goals scored and 18 conceded. That sort of goals return isn't too far off what we are looking for here and given 6 of the last 7 league or cup head to heads between these sides have seen at least 3 goals scored, we will take our chances with over 2.5 goals in this one.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Lazio v Inter Milan

We stay in Italy for the final leg and we are looking for a game where both sides find the net. We have 2 heavyweights on show here and both are going well with Inter finishing last weekend's round of matches in top spot on the log and Lazio are just 1 point behind them.

Lazio have scored a very healthy total of 35 goals in just 9 league games at home this season whilst Inter are unbeaten on their travels with 9 wins and 2 draws, finding the net 25 times in the process.

With top spot at stake there is always a danger the game could develop into something of a chess match but it's not often either of these sides fail to register a goal and both teams to score is our pick to round off the treble.

Prediction: Both teams to score
