RUGBY

Rugby takes centre stage this weekend with a host of International matches as well as domestic competitions like the Currie Cup and Mitre 10 Cup.

The big game of the weekend is the Bledisloe Cup fixture between New Zealand and Australia at Eden Park in Auckland and there has been no movement on this handicap all week with New Zealand (-14.5).  Their record at home against Australia is superb and they haven't lost since 2001 and Eden Park has been a real fortress for them over the years.  The All Blacks have made a few changes from last week’s side which went down by a record margin in Australia with the Wallabies keeping things as stable as possible.  I think we are in for a cracking game and the betting looks about right with New Zealand 11-20 points at 28/10.

South Africa are (-19.5) at home to Argentina and this game does look tricky to call due to team selections.  We believe South Africa will win the game but are going for a speculative 9/2 that Argentina are the first to reach 10 points perhaps taking advantage of some new South African combinations.

Other International matches include Wales v England, Italy v Russia and France v Scotland.

The Currie Cup continues this weekend and there is a match on Saturday and a match on Sunday.

Saturday sees the Pumas against Free State with the home team (+12.5) points and on Sunday the Golden Lions are (-4.5) at home to the Sharks.

There is also Mitre 10 Cup action this weekend and it is interesting to see that Tasman are narrow favourites at 7/10 to beat Canterbury away on Sunday morning, South African time.

SOCCER

English Premier League continues this weekend and the pick of Saturday’s action is Man City v Tottenham where the betting has been stable this week with City 7/20, Tottenham 7/1 and the draw at 9/2.

Man City were so impressive in their opening match and they are going to be very tough to beat at home and in fact we fancy them a bit on the handicap of (-1) at 9/10.

Locally we have the MTN 8 quarter-finals this weekend with three games on Saturday and one on Sunday.  The pick of the weekend’s fixtures does look to be Sunday’s clash between Wits and SuperSport with Wits 11/10, SuperSport 12/5 and the draw on offer at 22/10.  There are also loads of exotic markets on each match and you can click here to bet on Wits v SuperSport and click here for betting on all local football.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at Turffontein on Saturday with a 9 race card starting at 12h15 and ending at 16h58 and on Sunday we run on the Greyville Polytrack with action getting under away at 12h45 and finishing with the 8th and final race at 16h55.  Our fancies this weekend are Roll Of Drums, Horse No. 3 in the 6th race at Turffontein, currently priced at 7/2 and on Sunday we are looking at Horse No. 1, Be Happy, in the 8th and final race to end the weekend on a high note for us at a current price of 9/2.
