Let’s start with a look at the latest Currie Cup Outright winner Betting where Western Province are trading as 22/10 favourites with defending Champions, the Pumas level with the Cheetahs at 5/2 on the betting boards. You can get 17/2 the Sharks and 10/1 and better the balance.

FRIDAY

Golden Lions v Griffons – Click here to bet

The Lions have suffered two straight losses at the start of their campaign going down by 16 points to Western Province and then having come from behind to level the scores they went down 34-27 to the Pumas in Nelspruit last week.

The Griffons have found their introduction to Currie Cup rugby tough and they lost by 16 points to the Sharks in Durban before getting hammered by 40 points at home to the Cheetahs last week.

Handicap: Lions -21

This is definitely a game I will be keeping an eye on Total Points Lines closer to the time and that will probably be my main interest in this game. In the interim though I am happy to take a small play on the Lions to win by 22 points or more.

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Lions -21 points at 9/10

Cheetahs v Blue Bulls – Click here to bet

Cheetahs are top of the log in the early going with maximum points from their first two matches. They beat the Griffons 52-12 on the road last week and in Week 1 they beat the Griquas 42-19 in Kimberley.

The Bulls have had a terrible start to the Currie Cup losing 15-63 at home to the Pumas in Week 1 and then last week going down 41-33 at home to Western Province.

Handicap: Cheetahs -17.5

The Bulls lose a lot of their players to the URC this weekend and it is really hard to see them living with this Cheetahs team.

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Cheetahs -17.5 points at 19/20

Pumas v Griquas – Click here to bet

The defending Champions, the Pumas have taken maximum points from their opening two games with a 34-27 home win over the Lions last weekend coming on the back of a convincing 63-15 hammering of the Bulls in Pretoria.

The Griquas looked dead and buried at half-time against the Sharks at home last week, but stormed back to win 48-40 and in Week 1 they were also home, but went down 19-42 to the Cheetahs.

Handicap: Pumas -10.5

The Griquas are not known for their travelling and I think the Pumas are going to put them away with some room to spare here.

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Pumas -10.5 at 19/20

SUNDAY

Sharks v Western Province – Click here to bet

Sharks opened their campaign with a 32-16 home win over the Griffons and they then went to the Griquas where they relinquished a big half-time lead to go down 48-40 last week.

Western Province were too strong for the Lions in their opener winning 44-28 in Johannesburg before travelling across the Jukskei to beat the Bulls 41-33.

Handicap: Sharks +7.5

I think Western Province have rightly been installed as firm favourites for this game and my money is on them beating the handicap of 7.5 points.

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Western Province -7.5 at 9/10
