SWEDEN v SLOVAKIA

Sweden and Slovakia meet in St Petersburg in Friday’s early kick-off.

Sweden were under the pump for long periods against Spain in their opener, but managed to hold on for a goalless draw. They had been in good form leading into the Tournament winning their last 5 games across World Cup 2022 qualifying and friendly Internationals.

Slovakia were 9/2 underdogs against Poland in their opening match, but they managed to beat the Poles 2-1 and they are now nicely set up to progress from this group. They had also looked solid in the warm-up games and have drawn 2 and won 1 of their World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

Sweden 17/20

Draw 12/5

Slovakia 37/10

Suggested Bet: The draw at 12/5

I suspect that this is going to be a cagey affair and while Sweden as favourites will be disappointed not to get the 3 points, I think that the draw is a likely outcome.

CROATIA v THE CZECH REPUBLIC

This Group D fixture takes place in Glasgow and the teams had differing fortunes in the opening round of matches.

Croatia lost 1-0 to England and that continued a poor round that saw them lose 1 and draw 1 of their friendly matches in the build-up. 5 out of their last 6 International games would have seen you collect profits had you backed under 2.5 goals.

The Czech Republic beat Scotland 2-0 in their opener in a match where the bookmakers could not separate the sides. They have been something of a mixed bag in recent months with a 4-0 loss to Italy in a friendly and a 1-0 loss away at Wales in a World Cup qualifier.

Croatia 23/20

Draw 47/20

Czech Republic 26/10

Suggested Bet: The draw at 47/20

This is another game I think is going to be extremely tight and while neither of the sides will target a draw, the Czech Republic would be more than happy to walk away with a point and Croatia look to be struggling to get amongst the goals.

ENGLAND v SCOTLAND

England take on Scotland at Wembley in Friday’s final match and the home team are short priced 1/3 favourites to win the game.

England overcame stern resistance from Croatia in their opener, winning 1-0 thanks to a second-half strike by Raheem Sterling. In their build-up to Euro 2020 England have been in excellent form winning their previous 5 Internationals, including 3 World Cup qualifiers.

Scotland got off to a disappointing start with a 2-0 loss to the Czech Republic in their opening match. They were unbeaten in their previous 5 Internationals leading into the Tournament including 2 friendlies and 3 World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

These sides last met in the 2018 World Cup where they drew 2-2.

England 1/3

Draw 9/2

Scotland 19/2

Suggested Bet: Anytime Goal Scorer, Harry Kane, at 8/10

Kane did not get on the score sheet in the opener and he is still England’s favourite with the bookies to be leading goal scorer which is partly as a result of the fact that he takes penalties. I am expecting England to get plenty of chances and for Kane to bury at least 1 of them.
