BettingDiaryThe 3rd renewal of the Emilia-Romagna F1 Grand Prix takes place at the Imola racetrack this weekend and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Charles Leclerc strengthened his grip on the title race with a comprehensive victory in Australia last time out. He was chased home by Sergio Perez with George Russell completing the podium. Max Verstappen was forced to retire with a fuel leak.

Overall for us it was a good race from a punting perspective having backed Leclerc to win at 17/10 and Daniel Ricciardo at 11/4 to finish in the points and he managed to bring his Mclaren Mercedes home in 6th place. The only bet which went missing was Lewis Hamilton to podium which he just missed as he finished 4th.

Last year Max Verstappen won this race and the year before it was Lewis Hamilton who claimed the inaugural victory.

Charles Leclerc has now shortened to firm favourite in the Drivers Championship race and he can be backed at 6/10 with Max Verstappen 9/4, Hamilton is 10/1 and you can get 25/1 and better the balance.

Charles Leclerc 5/4

Max Verstappen 2/1

Carlos Sainz 8/1

Sergio Perez 14/1

Lewis Hamilton 18/1

George Russell 25/1

80/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: Charles Leclerc win at 5/4.

I am happy to go in again on Leclerc here given how comfortably he won last time out and how happy he looked with his Ferrari and there is also money back in free bets for 2nd place with World Sports Betting, so there is a bit of insurance there should he not quite make the top step of the podium.

Leclerc showed a liking for this track in finishing 5th and 4th in his previous two outings and there is no doubt that the machine underneath him now is far superior to what he was driving then.

For those looking for a bigger price than the 5/4 on a Leclerc win, consider Fastest Lap and Winning the Race at 5/2. This bet would have arrived in Australia and for my money he looks to be a cut above all the other drivers in the race at the moment.

Suggested Bet: Daniel Ricciardo Top 6 finish at 7/4

Ricciardo impressed me last time out and I fancy him to build on that 6th place showing with another strong drive.
