CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE

Max Verstappen stormed to his record 10th successive Grand Prix victory when he won the Italian Grand Prix ahead of his teammate, Sergio Perez. Carlos Sainz Jnr. completed the podium having started the race in pole position.

Verstappen has an unassailable lead in the Driver’s Championships, but bookies are still betting on a market without Max Verstappen where his teammate Perez is the favourite at 1/8 ahead of Hamilton and Alonso at 6/1 and 16/1 respectively.

SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

The Singapore Grand Prix returned to the calendar in 2022 after two years off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charles Leclerc qualified in pole position, but it was Sergio Perez who took the win ahead of Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jnr., Max Verstappen could only finish 7th almost a minute down on Perez. Lewis Hamilton has won this Grand Prix 4 times with his most recent win coming in 2018 and Max Verstappen has yet to taste victory in Singapore.

Lando Norris 20/1

Fernando Alonso 25/1

George Russell 28/1

Suggested Bet: Sergio Perez win at 10/1

You would be a very poor man had you been opposing Max Verstappen this season, but with the record now in the bag, I am wondering if perhaps his intensity won’t drop off slightly and this could allow his teammate, Perez to sneak in for the for his 2nd consecutive Singapore Grand Prix Title.

This bet also comes with the insurance that you can get your money back if your pick finishes 2nd and given there is a 2/7 favourite to win this race in Verstappen it is nice to have this to fall back on.

Suggested Bet: Lando Norris, Top 6 Finish – market still to be priced up

After back-to-back runner-up finishes in Great Britain and Hungary, Lando Norris has dropped a bit off the pace finishing 7th twice and 8th last time out in Italy. He was 4th here in 2022 and I am backing him to bounce back to form.
