BettingDiaryFriday’s sports betting highlights include a live English Premier League match and we take a closer look in our Daily Diary.

FOOTBALL

With a heavy weekend of English Premier League and local football ahead of us punters can warm up with Friday night’s televised match between Sheffield United and West Ham United. Sheffield United are 9/10 favourites at home with the draw 5/2 and West Ham 13/4.

Sheffield United have been very impressive since moving up from the Championship and they currently sit in 8th, but they haven't won in their last 3 and they have lost their last 2 matches in succession while West Ham currently sit in 16th position, but did win their last game at home to Bournemouth by 4-0. We just have the feeling that these sides fortunes may be turning and West Ham could be the value here at 13/4.

GOLF

The South African Open continues on Friday and Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace are disputing favouritism with Oosthuizen 9/2 and Grace at 5/1. Fellow South African, George Coetzee is 12/1, but it is tough to look past the top 2 in the betting. There will be in-running betting throughout the Tournament.

CRICKET

The Big Bash League continues on Friday with the Melbourne Renegades 31/20 against the Melbourne Stars who are priced at 8/15. This is one of the more one-sided betting heats we have seen in this competition and other markets include first innings score over or under 157.5 and most match sixers where the Stars are 17/20 and the Renegades are 27/20 and the tie at 13/2.

There is also International Cricket on Friday with India against Sri Lanka in the 3rd T20. It is no surprise that India are very firm favourites at 1/5 with Sri Lanka on offer at 15/4. The runs spread for the first innings score in this match is 170.5 at 17/20 the pair.

RUGBY

There is Champions Cup Rugby this weekend and fortunately the televised game on Friday night is La Rochelle up against Sale. The French outfit are massive favourites here at 1/7 which translates to a handicap of (-13.5) and we are fairly confident they can cover that. There will be plenty of markets including total points and team points lines closer to kick off.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Kenilworth Racetrack, an 8 race card starting at 12:40 and finishing at 16:40.

Our best bet on the card comes in the Jamaica Handicap, Race No. 6 where we like Horse No. 4, Kelpie currently priced at 17/10 the win and under the guidance of Anton Marcus.

It is of course Queens Plate weekend with the big race taking place at 16:45 on Saturday at Kenilworth and Hawwaam is a massive favourite here at 8/10 after a very impressive comeback in his last start. Mike de Kock certainly has a strong hand with the second favourite Soqrat priced at 6/1 and you can get 13/2 and better the balance.
