BettingDiaryThe Mayakoba Golf Classic takes place at the El Camaleon Golf Club in Mexico this week and it brings the curtain down on the 2020 PGA Tour.

The course is a par 70 layout with small and fairly slow greens, wind can be a factor and although relatively short it can be a tough challenge. That being said we should get a winning score in the region of -20.

Justin Thomas heads the betting at 15/2 ahead of Brooks Koepka and Harris English both priced at 16/1 at the time of writing. Abraham Ancer who played in the final group at the Masters is 20/1 and you can get 22/1 and better the balance.

Suggested Bets:

Justin Thomas each way at 15/2

Thomas is in cracking form with two Top 5’s and a Top 15 in his last 3 starts, that of course includes his last start in the Masters where he finished 4th. He hasn’t got a lot of course form having only played here back in 2014 where he finished in the Top 25. I would be very surprised if Thomas is not in contention come the back 9 Sunday.

Abraham Ancer each way at 20/1

Ancer showed continued improvement at the course and the last 3 years has 2 Top 10 finishes to his credit. He hasn’t played since his Top 15 finish at the Masters where he was in contention for long periods and I think he may be ready to step his game up to the next level.

Corey Conners each way at 33/1

Conners has been a picture of consistency in recent times with 3 Top 10’s in his last 4 starts. I am a bit concerned about his course form which isn’t great, but given his current consistency I am happy to include him in my staking plan.

Scott Piercy each way at 80/1

Piercy has been consistent of late all be it he hasn’t really been challenging at the top of the boards. Last week he finished in the Top 20, his 3rd in his last 4 starts. He clearly likes this course with a Top 5 and a Top 10 in his last 3 appearances and he looks a value play at this price
