WSB Logo Orange 80x80The Men’s singles final takes place at Wimbledon on Sunday and the big question is whether the No. 1 seed Alcaraz can stop Novak Djokovic from winning another Wimbledon Title.

CARLOS ALCARAZ

Carlos Alcaraz has been playing excellent tennis on route to the final. He was pushed to 4 sets in his 3rd round match against Jarry and in his round of 16 clash against Berrettini he dropped the 1st set, but came back to win the next 3 all by 6-3 margins. Rune was expected to give him a real go in the quarter-finals, but he prevailed 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 and then he was far too strong for the 3rd seed, Medvedev in his semi-final winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC

2nd Seed, Novak Djokovic’s first action against a seed came in the Round of 16 when he was given a hard match by 17th seed Hurkacz, winning the 1st set 7-6 before dropping the 3rd set, 7-5 and closing the match off with a 6-4 victory in the 4th set. He lost the 1st set in his quarter-final against Rublev, but stormed back to take the next 3 sets in the match fairly comfortably and in his semi-final he met 8th seed, Sinner who had taken a 2 sets to nil over him last year, but Djokovic was taking no chances this time around and closed the match out in straight sets, 7-4 in the tie breaker.

Head-to-Head

The pair have only met twice with each player winning a match. Alcaraz won the first meeting between the pair in May of 2022 when he beat Djokovic in 3 tight sets in Madrid, but although starting as an underdog in the French Open in June, Djokovic closed out the last 2 sets 6-1, 6-1 for a 4 set victory.

Carlos Alcaraz 31/20

Novak Djokovic 8/15

The fact that Djokovic beat Alcaraz on clay suggested he should be too good for him on grass, but I have been really impressed with Alcaraz on the road to the final and while excellent as always I think Djokovic might have shown a bit of weakness.

I am expecting this to be a very tight, tense match and I think overs on games is the way to go. I am also going to bet on Djokovic getting the win, but only in the 5th set.

Suggested Bet: Total Games, over 41.5 at 19/20

Suggested Bet: Correct Score Alcaraz 2-3 Djokovic at 5/1
