CitizenBlogI was an angry man when the Bulls let the Lions in for a consolation try at the end of their Currie Cup semi-final. I had backed the Bulls to win by 9 points or more and that try meant the final margin was 7 and I had done my money.

I was on under 47.5 points in the Western Province v Sharks game and also fired into the Sharks to stay within 4 points. Fortunately, they delivered and I had a profitable day in the end.

Looking ahead to this weeks final the betting opened Bulls (-6.5) against the Sharks and, personally, I was quite tempted to get involved with the Sharks, but virtually all of my punting network including many punters on the Goodforthegame Forum reckon the Bulls are absolutely good things so I will make up my mind closer to kickoff.

Back to the weekend though and I was at least in front heading into Sunday, I messed around with a few horses without any joy and then while looking to place a rugby bet in the Pro 14 I noticed some odds on the PSL and decided to take a random accumulator bet.

I took SuperSport to beat Tshakhuma in the PSL and more than 2.5 goals in the Cape Town City v Golden Arrows match. I also included 41 points or more in the Connacht v Ospreys game. The odds were sitting at around 6/1 but I wanted to see the magical double figures and to get the price up to 10/1, I threw in a cyclocross (yes cyclocross) bet backing the 11/20 favourite as my 4th leg.

I am sure many of you who have been into Sports Betting can guess what happened to this one? The first 3 legs mentioned above all arrived and the shortest price of the 4 and the one I only put in there to push the odds up slightly, ended up losing and I, unfortunately, had nothing to show for my efforts.

I paid the price for greed so often the down fall of a punter. I am not normally one to place multiples or accumulators as they are known and while it is certainly great when you hit one, but it may be a while before I take another. Who am I kidding? I will be firing into another one this weekend no doubt!
