mi2019Match 44 of the IPL sees Chennai Super Kings host Mumbai Indians on Friday with CSK looking for revenge after losing in Mumbai earlier in the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK got up to beat the Sunrisers by 6 wickets with 1 ball to spare on this ground on Tuesday. Tasked with chasing 176 for victory Shane Watson’s 96 off 53 balls was the rock the Super Kings chase was built on. Victory kept CSK’s 100% home record in tact in addition to moving them back to the top of the standings.

With an overall record of 8 wins and 3 defeats CSK are now closing in on a play off spot. They have been invincible in Chennai and in addition to the win over the Sunrisers, RCB (7 wickets), Rajasthan Royals (8 runs), Kings XI (22 runs) and the Knight Riders (7 wickets) have all left Chennai empty handed this season.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai have been resting since losing their most recent outing away to Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets last Saturday. Quinton de Kock’s 65 was the top Mumbai score in a bat first total of 161/5 but the Royals chased it down with 5 balls to spare.

With a record of 6 wins and 4 defeats Mumbai remain handily placed to take 1 of the play off berths. Victory here would move them within 2 points of CSK and they would still have a game in hand.

Aside from the recent defeat to Rajasthan earlier results away from home include wins at RCB (6 runs) and the Sunrisers (40 runs) either side of an 8 wicket defeat at the Kings XI.

Betting Angle

We take our chances with Mumbai to post the highest 6 over total in what should be another keenly contested game between these 2 rivals. Mumbai did have the better of the first meeting and whilst conditions in Chennai where the Super Kings are unbeaten are likely to be very different, the Mumbai openers are taken to get off to a flyer.

Bet: Highest 1st 6 Overs Score, Mumbai Indians at 9/10
