lionst20The Lions and the WSB Cape Cobras clash in Match 3 of the CSA T20 at The Wanderers on Saturday and the early betting suggests this should be a close game.

Lions:

The Lions had a poor campaign in the recently concluded Momentum One Day Cup. They won just twice in the round robin stage and finished bottom of the standings.

They also struggled in last season’s T20 tournament, winning 2, losing 4 and with no result possible in the other 4 matches they came in fifth on the log and missed out on the play offs.

WSB Cape Cobras:

The WSB Cape Cobras made it to the semi finals in the One Day Cup last month. They blew hot and cold with 5 wins and 5 defeats to claim the last of the semi final places where they were beaten away to the Titans.

In last season’s T20 Challenge the Cobras finished third in the standings with a record of 5 wins, 4 defeats and 1 no result. Unfortunately their semi final away to the Dolphins was washed out and as the Dolphins had a better record in the round robin the Cobras were eliminated.

JP Duminy will reportedly miss the start of the tournament but Hashim Amla could be involved.

Recent Head to Head

In last season’s head to heads the Lions won at The Wanderers by 7 wickets and the Cobras took revenge with a 6 run victory in Paarl.

Verdict:

This looks a tricky game to call with both sides eager to make a winning start. There are many alternatives to the match result when it comes to taking a betting interest and in this match we side with the Lions to hit more 6’s than the Cobras.

Suggested Bet: Most Match Sixes, Lions at 9/10
