mi2019Match 27 of the IPL sees Mumbai Indians host Rajasthan Royals in the first of Saturday’s matches and the home side come into the game in terrific form

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai’s season is gathering momentum and they come into this game looking for a fourth successive win. Their most recent outing at home to the Kings XI on Wednesday was an absolute thriller as Mumbai got up off the final ball of the match to trump KXP’s bat first total of 198/7 in a 3 wicket win. Kieron Pollard, skipper for the night in the absence of Rohit Sharma, was the hero. Pollard smashed 83 off just 31 balls including 10 of his sides 11 maximums to bring Mumbai back into the game after they had fallen way behind an already steep required rate.

Pollard is bang in form having also hit 46 in a 40 run victory away to the Sunrisers recently. They have also beaten the Super Kings by 37 runs in Mumbai at the start of this winning sequence and their overall record now comprises 4 wins and 2 defeats.

Rajasthan Royals

The Royals were at home to the Super Kings on Thursday and they went down by 4 wickets. The Royals posted 151/7 batting first with lots of players getting starts but nobody kicking on. The Royals bowlers looked to have turned the game around with CSK in trouble at 24/4 but Dhoni and Rayadu came together to break the back of the chase and CSK edged home off the final ball of the match.

The Royals have just 1 win and 5 defeats to show for their efforts so far and if they are to threaten the play offs they need to turn things around sooner rather than later.

This will be their third away fixture with the first 2 seeing them go down to the Sunrisers by 5 wickets and the Super Kings by 8 runs.

Head to Head

Matches 20, Mumbai wins 11, Royals wins 9

This will be the first meeting between the sides this season. In 2018 the Royals won by 3 wickets in Jaipur and they went on to complete the double with a 7 wicket win in Mumbai.

Betting Angle

The Royals have been a bit unlucky in 3 of their 5 defeats, games which could have gone their way but they come up against an in form Mumbai side here and this looks a big ask.

We have seen some big scores at this venue and will take our chances with 14 or more total sixes in the match.
