EnglandEuroEngland clash with Germany in the European Championship Round of 16 at Wembley on Tuesday and we take a look at a number of betting markets available to punters.

England

England topped Group D with 7 points, 3 clear of Croatia and Czech Republic whilst Scotland earned just 1 point. Goals in the group matches were scarce with England first beating Croatia 1-0, then playing out a 0-0 draw with Scotland followed by another 1-0 victory over the Czech's. Wembley was also the venue for all those matches and Raheem Sterling scored the decisive goals in both of those narrow wins. Jordan Pickford has kept 3 clean sheets and England have given game time to all their outfield players in the squad.

The winner of this match will face either Sweden or Ukraine in the quarter finals and the bulk of the outright tournament favourites are in the other half of the knockout round draw.

In the outright betting England's odds to win the tournament are 6.25/1 and they can be backed at around 5/2 to reach the final.

Germany

Germany's form in the group stage was erratic. They eventually finished as runners up in Group F, the toughest of the quartets, 1 point behind France, ahead of Portugal on goal difference and Hungary missed out.

The Germans opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to France in Munich, the first time they had lost their opening match in the Euro finals but they got themselves back on track in some style with a 4-2 win over Portugal thanks to 2 own goals and strikes from Harvertz and Gosens.

Germany were short price favourites for their final group match against Hungary but they had to fight back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to claim a 2-2 draw with Havertz scoring the first equalizer and Goretzka grabbed the second just 6 minutes from time. Had they lost that game Germany would have been eliminated.

Aside from a few friendly meetings notable head to heads in major tournament finals saw Germany thrash England 4-1 in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Those with longer memories will recall Germany knocked England out of the Euro 96 semi finals at Wembley on penalty kicks.

In the outright betting Germany's odds to win the tournament are 13/2 and they can be backed at around 11/4 to reach the final.

The Betting

90 minutes: England are trading at around 1.55/1 to win the game in regulation time with the draw at 9/4 and Germany can be backed at around 1.85/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 11/10 and it's 0.83/1 for both teams to score.

As far as the goal scorer markets are concerned Harry Kane is 7/2 to score the first goal whilst Sterling and a clutch of German players including Werner, Gnabry

and Volland are each priced at 6/1

To qualify for the next round under any means of victory England are priced at around 0.83/1 and Germany are 9/10

The Verdict:

England haven't hit the heights they are capable of in my book and Germany's form is erratic so on the face of it naming a winner here is no easy task.

However I have slight preference for England who have home advantage and possibly up to 40,000 fans backing them. Germany haave yet to keep a clean sheet and although England's matches have been very low scoring I think that can change here and I'll go with England to win a game of 3 goals or more in total.

Bets: 90 mins, England to win and over 2.5 total match goals? (yes) at 32/10.
