GermanyEuroMunich is the venue for Saturday's European Championship Group F clash between Portugal and Germany and after losing their opening match its the Germans who are under the most pressure.

Group F Betting Update

The opening round of matches in what is considered the toughest group saw Portugal beat Hungary 3-0 and France were 1-0 winners over Germany.

At the time of writing France are 6/10 to top this quartet ahead of Portugal 2.35/1, Germany are priced at around 7/1 and it's any price Hungary.

Portugal

This is essentially an away fixture for Portugal and that was also the case for their opening match against Hungary in Budapest. Portugal won that game 3-0 although it wasn't as comfortable as that scoreline suggests as they had to wait until the 84th minute for Guerreiro to open the scoring. The breakthrough was followed by a brace from Ronaldo, the first from the penalty spot and he is now the leading goalscorer in the history of the Euro Finals with 11 goals.

Portugal were 5/10 favourites to win their opening match but it gets much tougher now with Germany and France to face. They dominated possession against Hungary and “won” the corner count 6-0 and with a trio of Bruno Fernandes, Jota and Bernado Silva playing behind Ronaldo it was a touch surprising they had wait so long for the first goal.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Portugal are priced at around 7/1

Germany

Germany remain in Munich but home advantage didn't help them in their opening match against France. An own goal from Mats Hummels on 20 minutes proved decisive and the 1-0 defeat was the first time Germany had lost their opening match in the Euro finals.

The game against France was pretty even and Germany had the better of the stats without really threatening to get on top. They still have Hungary to face in their final group match which will also be staged in Munich but if they lose again here the only likely route to the last 16 would be to win that game as handsomely as possible and aim for one of the best third place finisher spots.

Germany's odds to win the tournament are around 10/1

The Betting

Portugal are priced at around 22/10 to win the game with the draw at 24/10 and Germany can be backed at around 27/20

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 23/20 and it's 8/10 for both teams to score.

The Verdict:

With Germany seeking to repair some of the damage from losing their opening match the circumstances might just suit Portugal although they would need to step up on the bulk of their display against Hungary.

I'm pretty open minded about the match result and I'm struggling to form an opinion on the goals markets but my gut feel is that a draw could be on the cards here.
