SwedenEuroThe European Championship Round of 16 concludes in Glasgow on Tuesday when Sweden start as favourites for their clash with Ukraine

Sweden

Sweden topped their group, unbeaten with 7 points, 2 more than Spain and 4 better off than Slovakia with Poland bottom with just the 1 point.

After playing out a 0-0 draw with Spain in a game where they had just 15% of possession Sweden completed a 1-0 win over Slovakia thanks to a penalty from Emil Forsberg on 77 minutes.

Sweden needed to beat Poland in their final group match to ensure they topped the quartet and Forsberg put them in control with 2 goals before Poland fought back to square things up. An injury time goal from Claesson saw Sweden edge the game 3-2 and land what looks a favourable last 16 draw.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Sweden can be backed at around 47/1

Ukraine

There were 6 best third place finish places available to qualify for the last 16 and Ukraine grabbed one of them. They finished third in Group C with 3 points, 3 fewer than Austria and 6 shy of the Netherlands whilst North Macedonia lost all their games.

Ukraine's only points came courtesy of a 2-1 victory over North Macedonia in their second group match. First half goals from Yarmolenko and Yaremchuk put them in control but North Macedonia fought back, halved the deficit in the second half and after Malinovskiy missed a penalty for Ukraine they ended up grateful for any sort of victory.

Ukraine started their tournament with a 3-2 defeat to the Dutch in Amsterdam. They came back from 2-0 down with goals from Yarmolenko (75) and Malinovskiy (79) only for the Dutch to snatch a winner 5 minutes from the end. Ukraine's final group game saw them go down 1-0 to Austria in a match where they created very little.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Ukraine can be backed at around 88/1

The Betting

90 minutes: Sweden are trading at around 27/20 to win the game in regulation time with the draw at 21/10 and Ukraine can be backed at around 9/4

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 29/20 and it's 11/10 for both teams to score.

To qualify for the next round under any means of victory Sweden are priced at around 13/20 and Ukraine are 23/20

The Verdict:

On group stage form Sweden deserve to be favourites but I expect this to be close and I'm speculating it may even go the full distance.
