Tenerife Open

Venue: Golf Costa Adeje, Tenerife.
Dates: Thursday 29th April – Sunday 2nd May 2021

Tournament Preview

The European Tour continues with the return on the schedule of the Tenerife Open. Having last been played on the tour back in 1995, it is an event that has hosted some of the biggest names in golf and will have plenty of potential winners in 2021. Plenty of the biggest names on the continent and beyond are in action and with the Ryder Cup now less than six months away, there is plenty to play for – not to mention the 1.5 million euro prize pot that is up for grabs too. With playing conditions set to be perfect, low scoring could be the order of the day in the Gran Canarian sunshine.

Betting Preview

Outright Winner

With the European Tour finding its feet in 2021, plenty of big names are in action and looking to find form in Tenerife: –

Antoine Rozner – 17.00

Frenchman Antoine Rozner is in the form of his life and he will be hoping to continue his good form with a win here, following his victory in Dubai last month.

Garrick Higgo – 20.00

Young South African Garrick Higgo picked up a statement win at the Gran Canaria Open last time out and he could be one to watch again this week in similar conditions.

Matthias Schwab – 28.00

Matthias Schwab is a real prospect on the European Tour, and few would bet against him backing up his back-to-back top 10’s with a win here.

Max Kieffer – 30.00

German Max Kieffer has finished runner up at his last two events and with a similar looking field in Tenerife this week, he will be hoping to make it third time lucky.

Kurt Kitayama – 35.00

American Kurt Kitayama has been well and truly in the mix in every event he plays on the European Tour and he will be one to watch here.

1st Round Leader

Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-

Victor Dubuisson – 40.00

Former French Ryder Cup player Victor Dubuisson is a supremely talented operator and despite no real form to speak of, he could well get off to a flyer in Tenerife this week.

John Caitlin – 45.00

Fellow American John Caitlin won the Austrian Open title in style a fortnight ago and he will be full of confidence as he arrives in Tenerife for this one.

Eddie Pepperell – 80.00

Experienced Englishman Eddie Pepperell has been out of the winner’s circle on the European Tour for a few seasons, but he comes from good stock and should relish the challenge here in Tenerife.

Top Ten Finish

With so many decent players assembled here in Tenerife, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-

Joost Luiten – 2.75

Dutchman Joost Luiten is a serial winner on the European Tour, and he will be doing all he can to fire himself up the rankings here with a strong week.

Thorbjorn Olesen – 3.00

Dane Thorbjorn Olesen has been plagued with off-course incidents in recent times and he has a game capable of competing in any tournament in the world.

Scott Jamieson – 7.50

Scott Jamieson was one of the men to beat on the European Tour last season and he could well be a good bet to be involved at the business end of proceedings in Tenerife this week.

BetXChange Best Bets:

Outright Winner: Matthias Schwab – 28.00

1st Round Leader:  Victor Dubuisson – 40.00
