delhidaredevilsThe first leg of an IPL double header on Sunday sees Kings XI Punjab host Delhi Daredevils in Mohali.

In the outright betting Delhi have been trading around 8/1 and the Kings XI Punjab can be backed at around 17/2. We have a whole host of pre-tournament markets which can be viewed here.

Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI finished one place above the Daredevils in 2017 winning 7 of their round robin matches and losing the same number. Ravi Ashwin skippers the side and they have some experienced campaigners in the shape of Yuvraj Singh and Chris Gayle. Finch is another top order batsmen who can take the game away from an opponent and David Miller remains in the ranks.

Squad: Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin(c), Yuvraj Singh, Karun Nair, Lokesh Rahul, Chris Gayle, David Miller, Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, Mayank Agarwal, Ankit Rajpoot, Manoj Tiwary, Mohit Sharma, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Barinder Sran, Andrew Tye, Akshdeep Nath, Ben Dwarshuis, Pardeep Sahu, Mayank Dagar, Manzoor Dar

Delhi Daredevils

The Daredevils have yet to get their hands on this trophy and even appearances in the play offs have been few and far between. Last season they won 6 and lost 8 of their matches to finish sixth on the log but they have a number of new recruits to help mount a challenge this time around. Gambhir joins after leading the Knight Riders for a lengthy period and Glen Maxwell is another eye catching signing. The top order hitting power is boosted by Jason Roy and Colin Munro but Delhi have been dealt a late blow with the news that Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the tournament.

Squad: Shreyas Iyer, Chris Morris, Rishabh Pant, Glenn Maxwell, Gautam Gambhir(c), Jason Roy, Colin Munro, Mohammed Shami, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tewatia, Vijay Shankar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Daniel Christian, Jayant Yadav, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Trent Boult, Manjot Kalra, Abhishek Sharma, Sandeep Lamichhane, Naman Ojha, Sayan Ghosh

Betting Angle

Rabada’s absence is a big blow for Delhi’s long term ambitions but both these sides look capable of a better showing than we have become accustomed to and early momentum could be crucial. The game has been switched to Mohali, KXP home turf and whilst a pitch report will be a handy weapon to have, early thoughts are for 11 or more sixes in total.
