The lightweight CAPTAIN DISKO has a fair c & d record and he fared well over a suitable trip behind the smart Plano (runs in race 4) on the grass recently. He finished strongly for 3rd after a slow start and had subsequent winner CAPTAIN'S VISTA just over half a length further adrift but is now 3kgs better off despite the resultant three pound penalty.

The injury plagued SAO PAULO expectedly took to this surface when she produced a powerful burst to win a c & d novice plate on local debut ten weeks ago. There was plenty of merit in that victory as the daughter of Trippi raced wide and of course she got the better of male rivals.

It could pay to follow the progress of Golden Shamrock (ran on 12/01) and Desert Chief (runs in race 5 today) as the first selection in this extremely low-key fillies and mares handicap, STONE TOWN finish- ed a most creditable 5th in the same event as the former pairing over further on this course three weeks ago.
