The four-year-old is way better than his last two runs indicate and the former Cape resident should have a huge say if he handles this track.

MANOUCHE ran way above his rating when runner-up in a Pinnacle Stakes contest over this c & d three weeks ago and due to the technicality he escaped without a penalty. The chestnut gelding is thus well- handicapped at this lower-level and he jumps from the best draw.

The quality local sprinter EASY TO PLEASE finished an excellent 2017 with an impressive c & d victory over PONT DU GARD (1.5kgs worse off), who in turn had a few of today's rivals behind him in a subsequent triumph. The veteran chestnut has a tidy draw.

It could pay to follow the progress of Notacademicatall (runs in race 6) and Klondike River (runs in race 8) as the first selection here, WARBASH had two inspiring recent performances over this c & d behind those rivals. He has to, unfortunately, negotiate a wide barrier but the in-form veteran gelding is most capable with frontrunning tactics so he should overcome the obstacle. He will be retained by his promising young jockey.
