Race 4: ALSSAKHRA(6)
Race 5: KINGS CREEK(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: SWEET JULIET(5)
Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Gerald C WALKER

The lightly raced SWEET JULIET clearly prefers this minimum trip and she finished well for a solid 2nd behind a fast type at the Vaal recently. She tackles stronger opposition today but is progressive and will have more to offer. The bay filly is her conditioner's only entrant on the card.

TOP BET

Race 3: BOATSWAIN(6)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Robbie SAGE

The smart BOATSWAIN was immediately rested after he was shockingly beaten by a newcomer during the winter. That said, he finished a comfortable four lengths clear of the next placed entrant SWEET TRIAL and the imported bay colt would have come on extremely well during the absence. He clearly has much class about him and should make amends. He is the yard's only runner on the day.

Race 5: BOUDICA(1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Erico VERDONESE

BOUDICA has shown fair ability and she will strip fitter after undoubtedly just needing her comeback run at the Vaal late last month. She is drawn best of all and gets the services of a top jockey. The mile will be right up the daughter of Silvano's alley.

Race 6: SOCIAL ORDER(1)
Jockey:  S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Sean TARRY

The unbeaten SOCIAL ORDER appears to have suffered a setback as he returns from a 24-week absence. The four-year old bay gelding crushed his rivals in both his displays on this course, the latest over this track & trip on handicap debut. He takes on considerably stronger opposition on his seasonal debut today but has a bright future and merits healthy respect.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 4: TAPENZEE(1)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Mike & Adam AZZIE

The striking grey gelding TAPENZEE has obvious ability but he caused a major problem for his now three-month suspended workrider when he failed to negotiate the Vaal turn recently. The imported four-year old never raised a gallop when going off at short-odds that day but his prior form proves that he is much better than that. In fact, today's promising youngster gets the best out of the son of Tapit who can quickly bounce back to form here. His best efforts have come on this course.
