RACE 1

GOLDEN RULE produced a promising debut effort in the Listed WSB Summer Juvenile Stakes at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The son of Canford Cliffs would have come on from the run and should enjoy the extra 100m on offer. He takes on Maiden Company and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

GLOBAL STATE ran a good race on debut over this C&D. He was slow into stride, understandably raced green and stayed on at the finish. The son of Global View found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He should make the natural progression.

GOLDEN LINK ran a creditable race on debut over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Gold Standard would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

RACE 2

FIVE STAR MAGIC showed good improvement when second in her last start over 1200m on this course. She lost a length leaving the start, raced green and finished her race off strongly. The daughter of Eviction is a progressive type and if not too far out of her ground at the halfway mark, she should give the males a run for their money.

CONNECTION showed speed over this distance on the Polytrack last time but was touched off by Horsefly. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CAPTAIN EFFICIENT stayed on when fourth in his stable debut over 1200m on this course last time. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern. The son of Captain Of All will be mowing down the frontrunners under Marco van Rensburg.

RACE 3

BRIDGERTON’S last start can be ignored as the jockey looked behind when the gates opened and he lost two lengths leaving the start. Jockey Luyolo Mxothwa understandably did not give him a hard ride in the straight. The son of Visionaire is a much better horse when racing on the speed. If all goes according to plan at the start, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

FINAL EDITION has produced four good runs since winning his maiden. The son of Dynasty gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

HAWK CIRCLE fought hard for his last victory over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is clearly in a good space and can follow up.

RACE 4

GET IT DONE finished 1.1 lengths behind TRIP TO BARBERTON last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 5yo mare is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. ON

THE GUEST LIST finished 1.75 lengths behind TRIP TO BARBERTON last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights. If getting away to a clean start, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

TRIP TO BARBERTON showed good guts and determination when winning her last start over 2000m on this course. She received a four pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Trippi is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 5

GRAZINGINTHEGRASS received a bump leaving the start last time but stayed on nicely at the finish. He would have come on from that outing and should strip much fitter. 7 of his 13 career victories have come over this distance and he should return to winning ways.

BUSH TRACKER finished 0.8 lengths behind MHLABENI last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. From pole position, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

MHLABENI was a shock winner in his last start over 1400m on this course. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this C&D. If repeating his last run, he should be hard to peg back.

Race 6

JOY AND PEACE rallied late when third over 1600m last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1800m. She does have a wide draw to overcome but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

PUBLIC BENEFIT finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

GIDEON’S DAUGHTER has good recent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that United Express has come out and won again since. She will enjoy the rise to 1800m and is a solid back up for the Alan Greeff stable.

RACE 7

SPLICETHEMAINBRACE is unbeaten from two starts to date. She ran on well when winning her last start over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1200m and in this field, she should keep her unbeaten record intact.

HAPPY HOLLY won a good race in her last start over 1000m on this course. She finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice on debut. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and she may have to settle for the same result.

PRISCILLA MAISEY has produced two encouraging efforts to date. The daughter of Var should love the extra furlong on offer. If all went well with her travels, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 8

COASTAL PATH stayed on when 1.6 lengths behind the winner over this distance on the polytrack last time. He has won twice from four starts over this C&D. He is likely to be outpaced early and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

IRONTAIL finished 0.15 lengths behind FIERY DUKE last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe.

FIERY DUKE is better than his last start. S’manga Khumalo steps into the saddle and on best form shown, he should be involved in the fight to the finish
