RACE 1

PROJECT RUNWAY produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. She was slow into stride but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber would have gained from the experience and should love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

FANTASY GIRL was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on this course. She returns from a 12-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Global View should love the extra 200m on offer and she is one of the leading contenders.

THREAD OF LIFE ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. She would have gained from the experience and with Raymond Danielson in the saddle, she should make the natural progression.

RACE 2

GOTCHA BUZZ moved up like a winner over this distance on the polytrack last time, but was caught late by See You In A Bit. Her penultimate effort when second over 1000m on this course was encouraging. She is in a good space and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

LISTENTOTHEOCEAN ran a good race when second over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. It must be noted that First Masterpiece has come out and won again since. She is having her first run for Gavin Smith and if not in need of this outing, she should pose a massive threat.

BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

RACE 3

CAPTAIN EFFICIENT was slow into stride over 1000m last time and ran on to finish fifth. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He finished 0.1 lengths behind WAR SWORD in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If getting away to a clean start, he can shed his maiden tag.

RUN FOR ME has decent recent form lines to his credit. He is at his best on the turf track and 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

WAR SWORD finished 1 length behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 4

PEDRO is much better than his last start on the polytrack. His penultimate run when second over this C&D catches the eye. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from eight starts on this course. The 5yo gelding has cracked a good draw of two and if putting his best foot forward, he can notch up his fifth-career victory.

HEAD GARDENER showed good guts and determination when winning his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. His record on this course is a slight concern but he is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

LAUNCH CODE showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 5

MISS SHAIVI ran a decent race in her local debut over this C&D. She should have finished closer as she hung inwards in the closing stages. The daughter of What A Winter would have come on from the run and she may be the one to side with in this field.

THE LADY LOVE ran a good race when second in her last start over 1000m on this course. She raced from just off the pace but found one too good in the form of Ferrando. She will strip much fitter and should be competitive.

VARIETY BREEZE ran a fair race over 1300m on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She finished 1.25 lengths behind JADE’S CABERNEIGH in her penultimate run. She is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 6

THREE ROCKS was given a peach of a ride when winning the Listed Lady’s Pendant last time. The daughter of Heavenly Blue is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. She is the best-weighted runner in this field and can notch up her seventh-career victory.

IMME’S LASSIE should have finished closer to the winner last time as she clipped heels at the 200m mark. She would have come on from the run and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

PASSCHENDAELE was an easy winner of her last start over 1300m on the Polytrack. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. S’manga Khumalo is likely to adopt the same tactics and the pair may be hard to peg back.

RACE 7

GOLDEN RULE was super-impressive when winning his maiden at the second time of asking. He produced a promising debut effort in a feature race in the Western Cape. The son of Canford Cliffs looks to be above average and he can follow up with another victory.

SPLICETHEMAINBRACE showed good guts when winning the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate should give the males a run for their money.

PLAY ACT should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be steadied at the 200m mark. He finished 3.55 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. With a bit of luck in running, he should finish in the placings.

RACE 8

GLASS SHOES showed signs of needing her comeback run against stronger company last time. She has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a drop-in class and she should give the males a run for their money.

GREAT MELODY should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was awkwardly placed at the 150m mark. He finished 0.5 lengths behind POMPEI WARNING in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run and is one of the leading contenders.

POMPEI WARNING ran a good race when third over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. His last victory came on this course and he must be included in all bets
