RACE 1

RAPTOR ISLAND has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He was reported to have been mildly distressed after his last outing. He has finished third in both his efforts over this C&D. He meets the right field today and may be rewarded for consistency.

KING OF QUEEN returns from a 13-week break and is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Sadick Watson is booked to ride and there should be improvement to come.

GANGSTER BOSS’ last three starts have been fair. He would have come on from his last outing and should strip much fitter. In this type of field, he can finish in the placings.

RACE 2

BUMPS LAST GRIND produced a promising debut effort over 800m on this course. He should have won that day as he hung and shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The son of William Longsword found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He would have come on from the run and if keeping on a straight line, he should be the one to beat.

EAT PREY LOVE finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice on debut. She was slow into stride, but rallied late. The daughter of New Predator will love the extra furlong on offer and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

RAVILIOUS finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He will love the extra distance on offer and should be involved at the finish.

RACE 3

DUMISANI was not disgraced when sixth against winners in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade is a progressive type and looks to have plenty of scope. She is back against her own sex and from her good draw of four, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

SEA OF TEARS rallied late when second in her last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. She would have come on from the run and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. The tongue- tie seems to have done the trick on her. She will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and should have more to come.

RACE 4

FINAL EDITION has produced two good second-place finishes since winning his maiden over 1900m on the Polytrack. The son of Dynasty makes his course debut and should enjoy the longer run-in. With luck in running from his awkward draw of nine, he should be the one to beat.

KUZNETSOV finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

AFRICA’S ROCK finished 1.5 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may battle to turn the form around. He finished 3.1 lengths behind STORM COMMANDER in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights and should turn the form around.

Race 5

CIVIL RIGHTS finished 3.25 lengths behind PRINCESS DEB’s last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run today and will be hard to catch under 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba.

BONNAROO finished 2.25 lengths behind GOLDEN PACIFIC last time. She is 6.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If not in need of the run, she should be competitive.

GOLDEN PACIFIC has top consistent form lines to her name. She is having her first run on this course and if suited, she should be involved at the finish.

Race 6

FAIRY KNIGHT was an easy winner of his last start over 1600m on this course. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won going away. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Global View has been gelded. If not in need of this outing, he should take a power of beating.

THE WINTER LAKE won a good race in his last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He finished 4.75 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is only 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

WAZ WOUTER was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He set his own fractions and won with a ton in hand. He finished 4.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

RACE 7

OFFICIAL SECRET was not disgraced when fourth in the Listed Lady’s Bracelet last time. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She has won once and finished third once from three starts over this distance. The daughter of Twice Over will be mowing down the frontrunners.

JASPERO won a game race in his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. S’manga Khumalo is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy and he may be hard to peg back.

EL ROMIACHI was running on when second in his last start over 1400m on this course. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

RACE 8

WATCH TOWER raced from a handy position over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Waz Wouter. He meets a similar type of field today and may be the one to side with.

CHARLIE MALONE was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. He finished third in his only attempt on this course. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

HALLERBOS showed signs of needing his comeback run over 1400m on the Polytrack last time. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. On best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
