Race 1

WILL O ME won a good race at the second time of asking over 1000m on the turf. She showed good speed and despite racing green, she kept finding to keep all challengers at bay. It must be noted that Canadian Summer has come out and won twice, including a Listed race. The daughter of Willow Magic will be suited to the 1200m and if taking to the Polytrack, she should take a power of beating.

RUSSIAN DOLL was a surprise winner on debut over 1000m on this course. She showed good pace and found another kick to notch up the victory. The daughter of Pathfork could be anything and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

TRIPTOROYALTY finished 2.45 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 2

MAGIC TATTOO showed good speed when winning his last start over 1100m at Turffontein. He raced in three competitive feature races prior to the victory. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Willow Magic. He is drawn widest of all, but is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

STEVIE GEE made the natural improvement when finishing third over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the extra furlong on offer. Richard Fourie takes the ride from a good draw of two and he is one of the leading contenders.

MR HENLEY finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the wire.

Race 3

WINTER SMOKE is better than her last start in the Grade 1 SA Fillies Sprint last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Her penultimate victory in the Grade 2 Camellia Stakes was encouraging. She has won on this course and as the best-weighted runner in this contest, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

AUNTY LIZZY’S last two starts have been good. She has won three times and finished second once from six starts on this course. Richard Fourie takes the ride and she should be hard to peg back.

DUBAWI PRINCESS did not see out the 1450m in her last start. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from 14 starts over this distance. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and from pole position, can run into the placings.

Race 4

AD ALTISIMA is better than his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last run has been franked. He has won three times, finished second twice and third twice from nine starts over this C&D. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and if putting his best foot forward, he should be the one to beat.

PROUD MASTER has good recent form lines to his credit. He lost a length at the start last time, but finished his race off strongly. If jumping on terms, he should pose a massive threat.

JUSTAGUYTHING finished 0.7 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

PRINCESS KESH was an easy winner of her last start over 2000m at the Vaal. She lost a length at the start, but ran on powerfully to notch up the victory. The daughter of Brave Tin Soldier has class about her and if suited to the surface, she should give the males a run for their money.

HAVE A GO JO is better than his last start over 2400m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He won this event last year and if putting his best foot forward, he should go close to winning.

AQUAE SULIS has moderate recent form lines to her credit. She has won twice from three starts over this distance. She runs well for jockey Thabiso Gumede and cannot be ignored.

Race 6

SPYDAS CORNER is better than his last start over 1400m on this course. He has won twice and finished second twice from six starts on this course. The son of What A Winter gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time which may do the trick. He should have no issues with the rise to the mile and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

CHATTERTONS KEEPER finished 4.85 lengths behind the top choice last time. He has won five times and finished second twice from fourteen starts on this course. His last victory came under S’manga Khumalo and on best form shown, he should go close.

PRINCE OF TARANTO should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had no luck in the straight. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and with a bit of luck, he should be competitive.

Race 7

BOLD ACT’S last three starts have been decent. She was not disgraced when finishing fourth in the Grade 2 Tibouchina Stakes. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Act Of War will enjoy the step up to the mile and with just 54kgs on her back, she may be the one to beat.

NEXUS ran a fair race in his comeback run over 1500m at Kenilworth. He has won four times and finished second five times from thirteen starts over this distance. He should strip much fitter today and is one of the leading contenders.

BATTLE FORCE had excuses in the Grade 1 Golden Horse Sprint last time. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he should have no issues with the rise to the mile. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe.

Race 8

ADMIRE ME ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Acacia Stakes last time. She returns from a 16-week break, which may have done her the world of good. She is unbeaten from two starts on this course. She comes into this race well-weighted and with a bit of luck from draw ten, she should be the horse to beat.

WISHFUL GIRL LINN ran on powerfully when winning her last start over 1200m on this course. It is interesting that she has changed stables since. She has won three times and finished second once from five starts over this C&D. She will be mowing down the frontrunners.

CAPETOWN BEAUTY ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 last time. She has won three times from five starts on this course. She takes a drop in class and should find a form return
