Race 1

JUNGLE JUNCTION has produced two decent efforts to date. He lost a length at the start last time, but stayed on at the finish when 1.35 lengths behind the winner. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Noble Tune is a progressive type and in this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag.

SENOR GARCIA ran a fair race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He finished second in his penultimate effort over this C&D. If not in need of this outing, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

DUKE OF AFRICA is an unraced son of Duke Of Marmalade from the Frank Robinson yard with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. He does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this type of field. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 2

MIA LOA produced a very good second-place finish over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She showed good pace, but found one too good in the form of Eau De Vie. The well-related daughter of Erupt is a progressive type and if not in need of this outing, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

AZUCAR hails from the visiting Weiho Marwing stable. Her last three starts with the tongue-tie fitted have been decent. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she will be staying on at the finish.

QUANABI stayed on at the finish when second over 1200m on this course. She will be at home over 1400m and is a solid back up for the Mike Miller stable.

Race 3

INTREPID ACT is one of the better bets on this card. He ran a good race when finishing fourth in his first outing for the Garth Puller stable. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Act Of War takes a big rise in distance to 1700m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be too good for this field.

FIBBER MAGEE stayed on nicely when third over 1200m on this course. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will be at home over 1700m. He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe.

GIANTS CASTLE showed some signs of a form return over 1600m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he can run into the money.

Race 4

This is a weak Maiden Plate for the girls and caution is advised. SEXY SHIRAZ from the Robbie Hill stable is the narrow first selection. She raced from a handy position over 1800m on the turf last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Querari meets the right field today and she can shed her maiden tag.

VIEW THE ROSES showed very good improvement when second over 1800m last time. She stayed on at the finish, but found one too good in the form of Hydrangea. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

AMERICAN STYLE is lightly raced with fair form to her credit. The daughter of Great Britain is bred to enjoy the rise to 2000m and she has plenty of scope.

Race 5

MOTOWN MAGIC was super-impressive when winning his last start over 2400m on the Vaal Classic course. He set the pace, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Uncle Mo takes a big drop in class and if suited to the Polytrack, he can notch up his third career victory. GIMMIE A STAR stayed on when third over 1600m at Kenilworth last time. He returns from an 11-week break, which may have done him the world of good. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should have no issues with the 1900m and he is one of the leading contenders.

ARUMUGAM moved up like a winner over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Grimaldi. He is in a good space and with Warren Kennedy retaining the ride, he should fight out the finish.

Race 6

This is an open looking Merit Rated 67 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is HAMPTON COURT from the Dennis Bosch stable. He has decent consistent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. Three of his four career victories have come over this C&D. He drops back in class and Richard Fourie may be able to get the best out of him.

WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory, but is in a good space and can follow up.

ALFONSA SPAGONI was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. The blinkers have done the trick and he will be mowing down the frontrunners once again.

Race 7

MISS CHARLOTTE has finished third in her last three starts. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was brushed by another horse from the 400m mark to the 100m mark. If not too far of out her ground turning for home, she can notch up her fourth career victory.

LOOKING HOT hails from the visiting Weiho Marwing stable. She has produced two fair efforts against stronger company in recent outings. She takes a drop in class and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she should fight out the finish.

BIRDWATCHER has shown signs of needing her last two starts after returning from a 10-week break. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from ten starts on this course. She should be cherry-ripe and with S’manga Khumalo back in the saddle, she cannot be ignored.

Race 8

This is a competitive Merit Rated 81 Handicap and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is MAJORCA PALACE from the Carl Hewitson camp. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. He takes a drop in class and with a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should run a big race.

CAPTAIN WHO was a comfortable winner of his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He meets a similar type of field this afternoon and can follow up.

PROUD MASTER returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. His last outing when finishing third behind Captain Seager was encouraging. The tongue-tie remains fitted and he should have a good winning chance if fit
