Race 1

UN BEL DI has produced three decent efforts in feature races, the latest of which was in the Listed WSB Summer Juvenile Stakes. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the extra 100m on offer. The son of Querari is a progressive type and against Maiden Company, he should be the one to beat.

TALK TO THE MASTER has produced two good second-place finishes to date. He was running on when second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ZANTHAR raced green on debut, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of New Predator would have gained from the experience and should love the extra 100m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

Race 2

FATAL GEM is one of the better bets on the card. She was not disgraced when fourth in the Grade 3 Schweppes Politician Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She finished 0.2 lengths behind CALLMEGETRIX in her penultimate effort. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She runs well for Luyolo Mxothwa and can return to winning ways.

EPIKLEROS won a game race in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She does take on stronger, but may be better than her rating suggests and she can go close.

PRINCESS IZZY finished 0.75 lengths behind RAINBOW LORIKEET last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the rise to 1800m and she merits healthy respect.

Race 3

ROMAN AGENT showed good speed when winning the Listed WSB Summer Juvenile Stakes last time. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and clearly has class about him. He should have no issues with the rise to 1200m and can notch up the hat-trick.

WINDS OF CHANGE finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice on debut. He did not get off to the best start, was green in running but finished off his race strongly. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a threat.

SYMPHONY IN WHITE won a good race on debut over this C&D. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. The daughter of What A Winter could be anything and may give the males a run for their money.

Race 4

POMODORO’S JET cost himself winning last time as he hung in the latter stages. He takes a drop-in class and it is encouraging that Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle. If keeping on a straight line, he should notch up his fifth-career victory.

MAGIC VERSE is better than his last start as he was reported to have choked up in running. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is a horse with ability and from pole position, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

CAFE CULTURE finished 1.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. He is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of four and may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

ROYAL AUSSIE is much better than his last start in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met. He over raced in the early stages, raced wide around the turn and understandably weakened in the straight. His penultimate run in the Grade 1 L’Ormarins King’s Plate catches the eye. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. Grant van Niekerk steps back into the saddle and if switching off early, he can return to winning ways.

QUASIFORSURE was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1400m. He should have won this race last year. On his previous form, he should go close to winning.

CAPTAIN FONTANE lost 3 lengths leaving the start last time and never got into the race. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. If getting away to a clean start, he should find a form return.

Race 6

DOUBLE GRAND SLAM finished 0.05 lengths behind RASCOVA last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of Vercingetorix is likely to be settled near the rear and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

RASCOVA was not disgraced when second in the Grade 1 City Of Cape Town Majorca Stakes last time. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. She jumps from a mid-field draw of six and may be hard to peg back.

OCTOBER MORN ran on well to win the Grade 2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she should not have any issues with the rise to 1400m. She jumps from a good draw of two and with luck in running, she should go close to winning.

Race 7

THUNDERSTRUCK has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed in the Grade 1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship last time but was outrun late by Dyce. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Rafeef is likely to adopt the same tactics this afternoon and he can notch up his sixth-career victory.

BEREAVE finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. The 6-year-old gelding won this race last year and will be looking to defend his title.

SURJAY is better than his last start over 1000m. He has won four times, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. With luck in running, he can return to winning ways.

Race 8

GREEN WITH ENVY ran on from last when winning the Grade 3 Schweppes Politician Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will be at home over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and is the horse to beat.

BEACH BOMB is better than her last start in the Grade 1 City Of Cape Town Majorca Stakes. She won a good race in the Grade 1 Cartier Paddock Stakes in her penultimate run. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and she should give the males a run for their money.

RAPIDASH was given a peach of a ride when winning the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Gold Rush last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will be suited to 2000m. He is the stable elect with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle and merits healthy respect.

Race 9

TRES CHIC was a tad disappointing in her last start over this C&D. Her penultimate run when third over 1100m on this course was encouraging. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. If ridden with restraint, she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

PINEAPPLEMINTGREEN finished 1 length behind NORDIC QUEST last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

NORDIC QUEST showed good speed when winning her last start over this C&D. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and merits healthy respect.

Race 10

SPEED RACER has top consistent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by Riverstone. The son of Querari is having his second run after a rest and should strip much fitter. Craig Zackey retains the ride and he should be rewarded for consistency.

WISSA’S ON FIRE is better than his last start in the Okapi Ladies International. His debut effort when second at Hollywoodbets Scottsville catches the eye. He has plenty of scope and should be one of the leading contenders.

NOON DAY GUN challenged strongly in his last start but found one too good in the form of Rougarouin. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on him. He is in a good space and must be considered
