Race 1

Nine of the runners in this contest are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide with regards to their chances. RULERSHIP is a son of William Longsword from the Mike Miller stable with Serino Moodley in the saddle. His mother, Clear Sailing was a nine-time winner from 1000m – 1200m. If not too green, he should get his career off to a positive start.

IN WITH A CHANCE is a son of Silvano from the Dennis Drier yard with Sean Veale up. He is related to Peut Etre Moi who has won once and placed six times from eight career starts. If not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.

UNTO THE BREACH is a son of Rafeef from the Clinton Binda stable with Warren Kennedy doing duty. He is related to three-time winner Bard Of Avon.

Race 2

MIA LOA produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course, three weeks ago. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the extra 100m on offer. The daughter of Erupt would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she is the horse to beat.

LITTLE MISS KJ is an unraced daughter of Crusade from the Glen Kotzen yard with Khanya Sakayi in the irons. Her mother, Littleblacknumber was a five-time winner over 1200m. If not in need of the run, she should get her career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other first timers in this contest.

RED ROSES TOO is a daughter of Captain Of All from the Dennis Drier yard with stable jockey Sean Veale up. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this type of field.

Race 3

MR MOLONY ran a decent race when finishing third over this C&D last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he was eased at the 250m mark. Serino Moodley retains the ride and with a bit of luck in running, he may be the horse to beat.

GREY VIEW has good recent form lines to his credit. He was reported to be cut into on his right hind leg last time. He has finished second once and third twice from four starts over this distance. The son of Greys Inn is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HIGH LEGISLATION showed nice improvement when finishing fourth over this distance on the Polytrack last time. The son of Legislate looks progressive and he should have more to come on his course debut.

Race 4

SKY CAFE should have finished closer to the winner over this distance last time as she was bumped at the 250m mark. Her penultimate run on this course must be ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. Donovan Dillon retains the ride and with a bit of luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag in this type of field.

VISION OF WILL’S last two starts have been good. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

STAR AGLOW is having her first run for the Peter Muscutt stable. Her last two starts over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course were decent. She returns from an 19-week break and if not in need of the run, she can feature.

Race 5

MADIBA’S CUPPA has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He set the pace last time, was bumped at the 100m mark but stayed on nicely to finish second. The son of Master Of My Fate tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can go one better.

PARK AND FLY has fair form lines to her credit. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will be at home over the 2400m. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LUCK OF THE IRIS ran a decent race when finishing fourth over 1750m on this course last time. She tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should fight out the finish. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo retains the ride.

Race 6

LADY SERENA has been taking on stronger company in her last two starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of Wylie Hall continues to drop in the ratings and she takes a drop in class. Her last placing came under Keagan de Melo and from pole position, she should return to best form.

WINTER WAVES won a good race in his last start despite racing wide around the turn. He makes his course debut and if suited to the track, he can follow up.

MONTANA SKY showed good signs of a form return in his last start. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. Ashton Arries retains the ride and he will be staying on at the finish.

Race 7

GLORY DAYS finished 3.05 lengths behind MOUNT LAUREL last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has cracked a good draw of two and with a bit of luck in running, she can notch up her fifth career victory.

MOUNT LAUREL moved up like a winner in the Grade 3 Flamboyant Stakes last time, but was outrun late by Zimbaba. If keeping on a straight line, she should fight out the finish.

KEEP ON DANCING was unlucky in the Non-Black Type River Indigo Handicap as she clipped heels at the 1300m mark. She has won four times and finished third once from six starts on this course. The 5yo mare is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Warren Kennedy who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 8

BLAZE OF SILK produced fair consistent form before given a 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won four times, finished second twice and third twice from 19 starts over this C&D. He takes a drop in class and can return to winning ways.

FAUSTINO finished 0.25 lengths behind WE ALL CHOMIES last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Crusade must be included in all bets.

WE ALL CHOMIES was unlucky last time as he had to be eased at the 700m mark and the 450m mark. He has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he can go one better
