Race 1

QUID PRO QUO is the best bet on the programme. Her last start when taking on winners over 1000m on this course was eye-catching. She showed good pace and greenness may have cost her winning. The daughter of Lance looks to have ability. She is back in Maiden Company and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she should take a power of beating.

MAGICAL VIEW is an unraced daughter of Captain Of All from the Mike Miller stable with Tristan Godden in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Cruise Along and Aerial View. If not in need of this run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

ETHEREAL VIEW has produced three good runs to date. The manner in which she finished off her last start suggests that she will love the rise to 1200m. She must be included in all bets.

Race 2

SAMUEL LONGSWORD produced a promising debut effort over 900m on this course. He received a bump leaving the start and despite racing green, he stayed on nicely at the finish. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

GOLD RUSH KID stayed on when fifth on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The son of Rabada would have come on from the run and will love the extra furlong on offer. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HAVANA MOON ran a decent race on debut and has been gelded since. The son of Last Winter will love the rise to 1200m and if jumping on terms, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

DAWN SURPRISE’S last two starts have been good. She was squeezed leaving the start last time which didn’t help her chances. The daughter of Elusive Fort is a progressive type and in this field, she can shed her maiden tag.

FLYING REIGN STORM raced from a handy position over this distance on the Polytrack last time and stayed on to finish third. She has plenty of scope and is one of the leading contenders.

JAZZ CAFE finished 0.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. She will strip a much fitter horse today and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

TOMYRIS should have won her last start as she had to shift for running room at a crucial stage in the race. The daughter of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and with a bit of luck from her wide draw of nine, she should take a power of beating.

BLUE HORIZON should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to be switched for running room at the 400m mark. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba which will assist her cause. If getting away to a clean start, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

MADAME POMPADOUR finished 0.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

ESCAPOLOGIST won a good race in her last start over this C&D, despite taking a keen hold in the early stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Linngari takes a drop-in class and if switching off early, she can follow up.

WONDERFUL finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

CELTIC BEAUTY followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1600m on this course. She cast a shoe in running that day which didn’t help her chances. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

EL DRAQUE showed good guts and determination to win his last start over this C&D. He showed good pace and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Captain Of All is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact.

BOM BOM finished 1.35 lengths behind HAPPY WANDERER last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He will strip much fitter this afternoon.

HAPPY WANDERER finished 2.85 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

ROYAL VICTORY was super-impressive when winning the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Pathfork returns from a well-deserved 12-week break and he should have the class to win a race of this nature.

IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA was caught late when second in his last start over 1400m on this course. He finished 0.8 lengths behind FORMAGEAR in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

FORMAGEAR has good consistent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that Bella Siccome has come out and won again since. He does have a wide draw to overcome but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 8

KIMBALL O’HARA showed good improvement in his last start over 1400m on this course. He was squeezed when leaving the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He takes a drop-in class and is having his peak run. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should be the one to beat.

JOHNNY THE THIEF was running on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He will strip fitter and has a massive chance.

PAPA C was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He meets similar company this afternoon and merits healthy respect
