Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET

Race 1: VICTOR FORTH(16)
Jockey: S KHUMALO - Trainer: J SOMA

VICTOR FORTH ran on smartly for 2nd over this c & d behind subsequent winner and highly rated unbeaten sort Soqrat on debut last month and the chestnut colt should make natural progress. Of course he drops in class into maiden company.

Race 2: JOSIE(9)
Jockey: K ZECHNER - Trainer: L HOUDALAKIS

JOSIE was slightly below-par in a competitive line-up second time out but that formline has worked out well and the above-average daughter of Mambo In Seattle proved her worth with an eye-catching debut performance. She would have strengthened during the eight week absence and should enjoy racing on this fast circuit.

Race 5: ARCTICA(1)
Jockey: P STRYDOM  - Trainer: Mike & Adam AZZIE

Just eight entrants head to post for this highly competitive Pinnacle Stakes event over a mile where the pace could be decent. The top weight ARCTICA is ideally c & d suited and he caught the eye when running on strongly for 3rd in a Grade 3 over nine furlongs on this track three weeks ago. The bay gelding was returning from a 12 week absence so will strip fitter and should go really well here.

Race 8: HUMBLE ADDICT(15)
Jockey: D MANSOUR- Trainer: J A Janse VAN VUUREN

HUMBLE ADDICT's improved last performance indicated that the lightly raced three-year old could be a track specialist. The imported bay gelding was unfavourably weighted in a strong graduation contest but he ran on smartly for 3rd over the c & d and will much appreciate racing on handicap terms today.

VALUE BET

Race 3: TEQUILA MAN(15)
Jockey: M V/RENSBURG - Trainer: P MATCHETT

TEQUILA MAN has an obvious affinity for this venue and he showed signs of a form return with an improved last outing on the inside course. He was comfortably beaten by Gunston (runs in race 1) that day but rather interestingly, his best career effort came over this c & d earlier this autumn and the 3rd placed entrant of that run, Benji shed his maiden tag seven days ago.
