Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 4: A LITTLE LUCK(9)
Jockey: M YENI  - Trainer: A LAIRD

The juvenile A LITTLE LUCK has improved smartly with each start and she stayed on for a decent 3rd over this c & d a month ago. She had the well-tried three-year old ELANGENI just under one length behind her that day and should continue to make swift progress. The latter has decent credentials but she again has the lightly raced top selection to beat.

TOP BET

Race 6: LORD SILVERIO(4)
Jockey: S KHUMALO  - Trainer: S TARRY

This is a most intriguing handicap featuring eight entrants where a likely sedate gallop is expected. The grey colt LORD SILVERIO is improving quickly and he appears to have most potential of today's rivals. The lack of pace is an obvious concern for the Silvano colt but his class and finishing burst may still carry him through on this long run-in. D' ARRIVEE may have his quirks but the lightly raced three-year old has also shown smart potential and this contest could be run to suit his tactics.

Race 7: PSYCHIC(1)
Jockey: L HEWITSON   - Trainer: S TARRY

A much bigger field contests this low-key handicap as opposed to the prior event and that could ensure a true gallop which will be run up the first selection PSYCHIC's alley. The Tarry inmate has all the right credentials to claim his deserved second career triumph on his track debut and of course the 3rd placed runner of his last start, Sabastian (runs in race 5) won his subsequent outing to lift the formline.

Race 9: HORACE(1)
Jockey: A DOMEYER   - Trainer: A FORTUNE

HORACE was quite surprisingly sold-off recently despite showing vast improvement in his last two runs over the mile at Turffontein but he has joined a good emerging stable and of course represents a dead- ly combination. The Fort Wood gelding's last formline has worked out well and he should relish the extra furlong on his pedigree

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 2: FARARANGA(4)
Jockey: C Storey   - Trainer - D Sham

FARARANGA has exposed form but she has held it well for quite a while now and the juvenile's fair last run proved that she will be a force over this minimum distance. She met some useful winners when weakening late over the extra furlong that day and will certainly test the likely short-priced favourite HUDDLE's fitness. Of course the imported latter had a bright start to her career but she has her first start this winter. The form of her last run worked out well as her conqueror On The Double subsequently placed in a KZN feature whilst the runner-up Saints Alive thrashed her rivals next time out
