Race 4: FOLLOW MY PATH (8)
Race 6: NOW I GOT YOU (5)
Race 9: MAMAQUERA (7)
Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: WIND WATER (16)
Jockey: G van Niekerk – Trainer: J A Janse van Vuuren
WIND WATER is one of the better bets on today’s card. He challenged strongly in his last start over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course, but found one too good in the form of Covert Operator. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the extra furlong on offer. He will strip a much fitter horse and is the one to beat.
Race 2: CELTIC RUMOURS (9)
Jockey: C Habib – Trainer: S Tarry
CELTIC RUMOURS produced a promising debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Vercingetorix found betting support which suggests that she was showing good work back at home. She would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 6: SET TO GO (4)
Jockey: K Matsunyane – Trainer: C Dawson
SET TO GO ran a good race when second over this distance on the Classic course last time. He raced from a prominent position, but found one too good in the form of Constable. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Erupt is having his peak run today and he may be the one to side with.
Top Bet For Today
Race 8: FOREVER MINE (1)
Jockey: R Simons – Trainer: M de Kock
FOREVER MINE is the best bet on the programme. He set the pace over 1400m at Turffontein last time and fought hard to keep all challengers at bay. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. The 5yo gelding is the class horse in this contest and he can notch up his seventh career victory.
Value Bet For Today
Race 3: PINCH HIT (5)
Jockey: C Maejean – Trainer: F Bronkhorst
PINCH HIT has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He finished 1.5 lengths behind GIMME THE FLAME last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he may be the one to side with
