Race 1

YOU BRING ME JOY showed massive improvement when second in her last start over 800m at Turffontein. She raced from just off the pace and rallied late. The daughter of Erupt is a progressive type and she will love the rise to 1000m. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

IT’S HER WAY was in need of her debut effort over 800m. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural progression.

INTRO is an unraced daughter of Bezrin from the St John Gray stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Rattle Bag and Lets Talk. If not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants.

Race 2

PROCEED produced a promising debut effort over 800m at Turffontein. He understandably raced green, but stayed on at the finish. The son of Gimmethegreenlight found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

GUERILLA WARFARE should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was cramped for galloping room at the 500m mark. He finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may have to settle for the same result.

READY SET FIRE made the natural improvement when second over 800m last time. He showed good speed, tried hard but found one too good in the form of King Of Kildare. He is a progressive type and can feature.

Race 3

MONDIAL is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He raced from a handy position and found extra where it matters most. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Flower Alley may still be ahead of the handicapper and can notch up the hat- -trick.

TURBO’S last three starts have been decent. He is likely to race on the speed and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

MARDI GRAS showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He should have finished closer to MONDIAL that day as he hung in the final 250m. If keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.

Race 4

TAEGAN’S CHAMP is unbeaten from two starts. Despite hanging from the 400m mark last time, the manner in which he won was eye-catching. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should love the rise to 1600m. He looks to have plenty of class and should keep his unbeaten record intact.

GUY GIBSON returned to winning ways in his last start over 1700m. He won his only attempt on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

EAST COAST is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is unbeaten from two starts on this course and if finding his best form, he can keep that record intact.

Race 5

MIGHTY GODDESS moved up like a winner in her last start over 1600m on this course, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Quantum. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Flying The Flag. She drops back in class and can go one better.

SOLO DIVA showed signs of a form return in her last start over 1700m. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. She drops back in class and is one of the leading contenders.

WOODLAND GLADE is better than her last start over 1600m at Turffontein. She returns from an 11-week break, which may have done her the world of good. She takes a drop-in class and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, she should have improvement to come.

Race 6

WILLOW EXPRESS stayed on when second over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He has won once and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. With luck from his awkward draw of eight, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

RATTLE BAG’S last two starts have been fair. She has won twice and finished second once from seven starts over this distance. If jumping on terms, she should give the males a run for their money.

SLINKY MAPIMPI should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was cramped for galloping room at the 400m mark. He won his maiden over this C&D. The son of Coup De Grace will strip much fitter and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, he should show improvement.

Race 7

REAL RELIEF’S last three starts have been fair. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish third. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. The son of Rafeef should have no issues with the drop to 1200m and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

LINKIN NAVIGATOR followed up his maiden win with a decent second-place finish over 1000m on this course. He showed good speed, but found one too good in the form of Time Fo Orchids. He has plenty of scope and is one of the leading contenders.

RICHARD THE FIRST was doing his best work late when fourth over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from six starts over this distance. With luck in running, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

SIGRID SWING challenged strongly in her last start over this C&D, but found one too good in the form of Nettleton. She has cracked a much better draw of four. The daughter of William Longsword is in a good space and will be involved at the finish.

BERENGARIA stayed on when fourth in her comeback run over 1160m at Turffontein. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew which will assist her cause.

DIVINE MOONLIGHT set the pace in her last start over 1450m, but was caught late by Duenna. She is likely to adopt the same tactics from her wide draw of twelve and may be hard to peg back
