Race 1

EMPRESSOFNORMANDY was her own worst enemy over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time as she over raced in the early stages. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

PRINCESS LOLA challenged strongly in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course, but found one too good in the form of JJ’s Eagle. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SOMEDAY MAYBE has fair recent form lines to her name. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last start has come out and won since. She finished 2 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

EAST COAST has shown signs of needing his last two starts after gelding. He has won twice from three starts on this course. The son of The United States is the best-weighted runner in this contest and if putting his best foot forward, he should notch up his third-career victory.

HAWKBILL is better than his last start as he was reported to be coughing post-race. He finished third in his only attempt on this course. He is likely to race on the speed from barrier two and merits healthy respect.

VIVA SPIRIT rallied late when winning his last start over 1600m on this course. The son of Erupt is unbeaten from two starts on this course. He does have work to do at the weights but is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

Race 3

GREAT BARRIER is lightly raced with fair form lines to her name. She stayed on when fourth over 1160m at Turffontein last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Rafeef meets the right field today and with luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.

BLUE QUARTZ ran a fair race on debut over 1160m at Turffontein. She should have finished closer to the winner as she was green in running and shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The daughter of Heavenly Blue would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should pose a threat.

PRIZED PLATINUM is better than his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He finished fourth on debut on this course and has plenty of scope.

Race 4

ATARIME raced from a handy position over 1700m last time but found one too good in the form of Master Christmas. The son of New Predator will be at home over 2000m. He meets the right field today and may be the one to side with.

KAROO GOLD ran a fair race in his last start over 1800m at Turffontein. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

TEO TORRIATTE was her own worst enemy last time as she over raced in the early stages. Her penultimate run when second over this distance under Muzi Yeni was encouraging. She jumps from pole position and if switching off early, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 5

SAY YES was not disgraced when facing male company in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She won her only attempt on this course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is back against her own sex and on best form shown, she should be the one to beat.

DAMOSTAR took the lead at the 200m mark last time, but was outrun late by Beating Wings. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From her good draw of four, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

IPSO FACTO has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this distance. She is having her peak run today and should earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 6

LIDL MISS SUNSHINE finished 0.2 lengths behind GILDA GRAY last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from seven starts on this course. The daughter of Silvano has cracked a good draw of two and she can return to winning ways.

GILDA GRAY won a good race in her last start over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The 5yo mare will be mowing down the frontrunners.

PRETTY IN PEARLS finished 2.7 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

SAN SIMON took on stronger in his last start over this C&D. His penultimate run when second over 1160m at Turffontein catches the eye. The son of Querari takes a drop-in class and from pole position, he can return to winning ways.

RYANS BOULEVARD followed up his maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1600m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

ALLENDE stayed on when fourth in her local debut over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. The daughter of Dynasty would have come on from the run and should enjoy the rise to 1450m. She should give the males a run for their money.

Race 8

CELTIC RUMOURS is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage as she was reported to be distressed. She returns from a 10-week break which may have done her the world of good. The daughter of Vercingetorix is unbeaten from two starts over this distance and she can keep that record intact.

IN THE BEGINNING lasted long enough when winning her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is in a good space and can follow up.

VIX PRINCESS finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 9

MIGHTY GODDESS is a winner of her last two starts. She raced from a handy position last time, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The blinkers have done the trick on the daughter of Flying The Flag. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can notch up the hat-trick.

KAKIEBOS took on stronger in her post-maiden effort over 1600m. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Flower Alley drops in class and she has plenty of scope. With luck, she should pose a threat.

ALESIA’S LOVE ran a fair race in her last start over this C&D as she was reported to be not striding out. She jumps from pole position and in this field, she can earn another cheque for her patrons
