The final action in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 should be a cracker as Cape Town City host Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night
Cape Town City:
City were also paired with Absa Premiership opposition in the previous round and they came away from Bidvest Wits with a 1-0 win. They have made a habit of going deep in knockout football, finishing runners up to Supersport in the MTN8 this season whilst in 2016/17 they were winners of the TKO. However in the Nedbank Cup last season City were on the wrong end of a surprise, falling at the first hurdle, 1-0 at minnows Acornbush.
Since the previous round City suffered a wobble in the Absa Premiership but they did beat Chippa 2-0 in a home fixture earlier this month and they reside in sixth place, no longer in contention for the title. City have also been making progress in the qualifying round of the CAF Confederations Cup and last week they returned from Mozambique with a 1-0 lead from the first leg of their clash with Costa do Sol.
Pirates are the form side in the Absa Premiership right now and in this previous round of this competition they were 2-0 winners at home to Ajax Cape Town. Since then they have won league games, 4-2 at Chippa and 3-1 against Chiefs in the derby and they have emerged as the main danger to log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who are 4 points clear of the Bucs in the title race.
Pirates were runners up to Supersport in this competition last season although that was hardly any consolation given the manner of their performance in losing the final 4-1. With no CAF football to distract them they can focus all available resources on the Absa Premiership and this cup run.

Pirates have had far less workload than City and are in a rich vein of form but given the home side have taken a liking to cup football I can see this heading into extra time with the fresher legs of the Bucs coming through.
Bet: How will the match be decided, Pirates win in extra time at 19/2
