2018 Form:

Ireland had a terrific 2018 which saw them go clear second favourites for RWC 2019. They started with a Grand Slam in the Six Nations and never really looked back. Ireland lost just one game in 2018, the second test away to the Wallabies in June, but they still won that series 2-1. In the end of year internationals Ireland completed a clean sweep and the highlight was undoubtedly a 16-9 victory over the All Blacks in Dublin.

England

Fixtures: R1 Ireland (a), R2 France (h), R3 Wales (a), R4 Italy (h), R5 Scotland (h)

Recent 6N Finishes:

2017: Winners W4 D0 L1 PD +65

2016: Winners W5 D0 L0 PD +62

2014: 2nd Place W4 D0 L1 PD +73

2013: 2nd Place W4 D0 L1 PD +16

2018 Form:

England put up a tame defence of the Six Nations title, losing their last 3 matches in Scotland, France and at home to Ireland and eventually finishing fifth. In June they lost the first two tests to the Boks in South Africa before winning the third and final match in a 2-1 series defeat. The end of year program was more encouraging. England did cough up a 15 point lead in a 16-15 defeat to the All Blacks at Twickenham but they had started the November fixtures by edging out the Boks 12-11 and they ended it with a 37-18 victory over the Wallabies.

Wales

Fixtures: R1 France (a), R2 Italy (a), R3 England (h), $ Scotland (a), R5 Ireland (H)

Recent 6N Finishes:

2018: 2nd Place W3 D0 L2 PD +36

2015: 3rd Place W4 D0 L1 PD +53

2014: 3rd Place W3 D0 L2 PD +43

2013 Winners W4 D0 L1 PD +56

2018 Form:

Wales had a solid year and especially so in Cardiff where they won all three of their Six Nations fixtures and four more test matches in November. The end of year internationals included wins over Australia and South Africa. They were beaten just twice in 2018 and both those defeats came in their Six Nations away fixtures in Dublin and at Twickenham in Rounds 2 and 3.

France

Fixtures: R1 Wales (h), R2 England (a), R3 Scotland (h), R4 Ireland (a), R5 Italy (a)

Recent 6N Finishes:

2018: 4th Place W2 D0 L3 PD+14

2017: 3rd Place W3 D0 L2 PD+17

2016: 5th Place W2 D0 L3 PD -27

2015: 4th Place W2 D0 L3 PD +2

2014: 4th Place W2 D0 L3 PD +1

2013: 6th Place W1 D1 L3 PD -18

2018 Form:

Les Bleus found it tough going in 2018. The pick of their Six Nations results was win over England in Paris whilst they also beat Italy in Marseille. After losing a series 3-0 in New Zealand in June they had to wait until November for their only other victory which came against Argentina. Other results in the end of year tours saw France lose late on to the Boks and they ended with a surprise defeat to Fiji.

Scotland

Fixtures: R1 Italy (h), R2 Ireland (h), R3 France (a), Wales (h), England (a)

Recent 6N Finishes:

2018: 3rd Place W3 D0 L2 PD-27

2017: 4th Place W3 D0 L2 PD +4

2016: 4th Place W2 D0 L3 PD +7

2015: 6th Place W0 D0 L5 PD -55

2014: 5th Place W1 D0 L4 PD -91

2013: 3rd Place W2 D0 L3 PD -9

2018 Form:

It was a mixed year for Scotland but they did win both home matches (against France and England) in the Six Nations and having won all three home fixtures in this tournament in 2017 their form at Murrayfield catches the eye. They were beaten by the Boks in Edinburgh in the November internationals but they ended the year with a victory over Argentina.

Italy

Fixtures: R1 Scotland (a), Wales (h), Ireland (h), England (a), France (h)

Recent 6N Finishes:

2018: 6th Place W0 D0 L5 PD-111

2017: 6th Place W0 D0 L5 PD-151

2016: 6th Place W0 D0 L5 PD-145

2015: 5th Place W1 D0 L4 PD -120

2014: 6th Place W0 D0 L5 PD -109

2013: 4th Place W2 D0 L3 PD -36

2018 Form:

Italy once again lost all of their Six Nations matches in 2018 and since beating Scotland in Edinburgh back in 2015 they have lost 17 consecutive matches in this tournament.

There was very little to shout about throughout the year although they did draw a series 1-1 in Japan and their only other victory came at home to Georgia in November. They ended their year with a defeat to the Wallabies (26-7) and a hiding off the All Blacks (66-3).
