Goodforthegame Predictions:

Liverpool v Newcastle

Liverpool are the only team to have taken maximum points from the first four rounds of matches and they return from the international break in top spot, two points clear of Manchester City. They saw off Burnley 3-0 at Turf Moor last time out whilst two earlier home games delivered a 3-1 win over Arsenal and 4-1 victory over Norwich.

Having sprung a surprise with a 1-0 win at Spurs in Week 3, Newcastle failed to follow up last time out, playing out a 1-1 draw in a home fixture against struggling Watford. Earlier results comprised of a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal on the opening weekend and a 3-1 loss at Norwich and they are in fourteenth position in the standings.

Last season Liverpool coasted to a 4-0 win in this fixture and they also won 3-2 at St. James Park.

Liverpool's clean sheet at Burnley was their first shut out of the season and they are taken to follow up with a comfortable win here.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Newcastle

Manchester United v Leicester

United are no higher than eighth in the standings and their only victory came at home to Chelsea (4-0) on the opening weekend. Since then they played out 1-1 draws away to Wolves and Southampton either side of a shock 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Leicester have made a very solid start, unbeaten with two wins and two draws and they are are third in the early season standings. They started with draws at home to Wolves (0-0) and away at Chelsea (1-1) before a 2-1 win at Sheffield United and 3-1 victory at home to Bournemouth.

United won this fixture 2-1 last season and they also won 1-0 at Leicester.

Leicester have impressed and whilst this is a big test they could well emerge with a point.

Prediction: Man United 1-1 Leicester

Spurs v Crystal Palace

Last time out Spurs let a 2-0 lead slip in the North London derby away to Arsenal, a game that finished 2-2. In earlier results they lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle, drew 2-2 away to Manchester City whilst on Matchday 1 they came from behind to see off Aston Villa 3-1 in a home fixture.

Palace have taken seven points from their first four matches, two better off than Spurs. They started slowly, drawing 0-0 at home to Everton and losing 1-0 at Sheffield United. They got their win away to Manchester United (2-1) and before the international break they edged out Villa 1-0 in a home fixture.

Spurs have won each of the last eight Premier League head to heads with Palace and a repeat of their 2-0 win in this fixture last season is our idea of the likely outcome.

Prediction: Spurs 2-0 Palace

Wolves v Chelsea

Wolves are still looking for a first league win of the season and last time out they went down 3-2 at Everton. They started the campaign with three draws, 0-0 at Leicester and 1-1 at home to Manchester United and Burnley.

Chelsea let a 2-0 lead slip at home to Sheffield United last time out, a home fixture that eventually finished 2-2. Prior to that they got their first league win away at Norwich, edging an entertaining game 3-2. Chelsea had started with a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United and a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester

Wolves won this fixture 2-1 last season and they also came away from Stamford Bridge with a useful 1-1 draw. They are a better side than their results suggest and they might just edge this one.

Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Chelsea

Watford v Arsenal

Watford have just one point against their name after finally opening their account with a 1-1 draw at Newcastle last time out. They remain bottom of the log after defeats in their first three matches, 3-0 at home to Brighton, 1-0 at Everton and 3-1 at home to West Ham.

The Gunners came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Spurs at The Emirates in their most recent outing. Prior to that they lost 3-1 at Liverpool but they did start with back to back wins, 1-0 at Newcastle and 2-1 at home to Burnley.

Arsenal won both head to heads last season, 1-0 at Watford and 2-0 on home turf.

Arsenal were vulnerable when travelling on a number of occassions last season but they get the vote to put more pressure on Watford who have conceded six goals in their two earlier home games.

Prediction: Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Aston Villa v West Ham

Monday night's fixture looks tricky to call. Villa have just three points to show for their efforts so far but they did win their most recent home game, 2-0 against Everton. They couldn't follow up last time out, going down 1-0 at Palace and they started with defeats at Spurs (3-1) and at home to Bournemouth (2-1).

West Ham have won their last two matches, 3-1 at Watford and 2-0 at home to Norwich. They had been thrashed 5-0 at home by Manchester City on the opening weekend before playing out a 1-1 draw at Brighton.

Preference is for a scoring draw.

Prediction: Villa 1-1 West Ham.
