Weather Forecast - Canberra

Brumbies:

The Brumbies first match up with New Zealand opposition ended in victory as they saw off the Highlanders 28-17 in Super Round in Melbourne last week, scoring 3 tries to the Highlanders 2.

Victory kept the Brumbies in second spot in the standings with a record of 8 wins and 1 defeat. They are 1 point behind the Blues and 2 better off than the Crusaders, both of whom are in action earlier in the weekend.

The Brumbies return to Canberra for the first time since Round 6 when they beat the Reds 16-12. They did lose the return with the Queenslanders in Brisbane (21-7) but otherwise they have a perfect record.

The Brumbies are currently trading at around 14/1 in the outright betting to win the tournament.

Hurricanes:

The Hurricanes came through a potentially tricky match up with the Reds in Super Round in Melbourne. They were 17-0 down at one stage but then scored 30 unanswered points to come through with daylight.

Earlier the Canes were involved in close matches away to the Highlanders (won 22-21), at home to the Crusaders (lost 24-21) and the Chiefs (lost 30-29) and away to the Blues (won 33-32).

That leaves the Canes with 5 wins and 4 defeats and they have 24 log points, 11 points off the pace in sixth overall. In the outright betting they are 10/1 to win the tournament.

Betting Angle

Both of my guests were leaning towards the Hurricanes on the board on Thursday nights Rugby Betting Show, The Handicap and although I handicapped this game as Brumbies -3.5 I am going to stop short of having a bet on either of the match result or handicap market. I think this is the game that could come down to the wire and with points lines not yet out my interest is going to be either team to win by 7 or less including the draw at Sunbet at 14/10.

BET: 2 Units either team by 7 or less at 14/10 at Sunbet
