Outright Update

Stage 10 was won by Mark Cavendish, his third of the tour. Cav beat Wout van Aert and Jasper Philipsen in a sprint and is now just 1 win away from equalling Eddy Merckx’ record for the most stage wins in TDF history.

Although there were splits in cross winds later in Stage 10 the GC came in together and as far as the overall standings are concerned Pogacar remains in yellow with O'Connor at +2:01, Uran +5:18, Vingegarrd is +5:32 and Carapaz +5:33.

Mark Cavendish leads the Points Classification with 218 ahead of Matthews 159 and Colbrelli 136

Quintana leads the KoM with 50 points, Michael Woods has 42 and Wout Poels 39.

Stage Profile

The stage is just shy of 200km long and two Cat 4 climbs early on may help to get the breakaway established. The Cat 1 Col de la Liguiere is the first of the formidable obstacles followed by Mont Ventoux (twice with the second ascent categorized HC topping out around 22km from the finish.

The Verdict

Whether a breakaway sticks or we see a GC battle is open to debate. If it comes down to the GC then Pogacar and O'Connor would appear to be the most likely to battle it out. If a breakaway sticks then any number of riders plus those in the mix for the King of the Mountains come into the equation.

A whole host of riders can be considered in that regard and we go with two against the field, Michael Woods who showed signs of having recovered from a crash early in the tour and Dylan Teuns who has already won a mountain stage.

Don't forget the money back special promotion for a second place finish and also the option to bet in play.

Bet: Michael Woods to win at 18/1

Dylan Teuns to win at 33/1
