Outright Update
Stage 5 on Tuesday was an ITT won by Tadel Pogacar who finished 19 seconds clear of Stefan Kung, ominously gaining major time on all his GC rivals and we haven't hit the mountains yet.
As far as the overall standings are concerned van der Poel held on to yellow but he is now only 8 seconds clear of Pogacar, Selected other riders include Alaphilippe +48, Lutsenko +1:12, Latour +1:28, Uran +1:29, Carapaz +1:44 and Roglic +1:48
The outright betting for the General Classification sees Pogacar at around 1/3, Roglic is 13/2 and Carapaz is trading at around 12/1
The Points Classification is led by Cavendish with 89 points, his team mate Alaphilippe has 82 and Michael Matthews and van der Poel have 78. Peter Sagan has 48 points.
You can view all the available outright markets here.
Stage Profile

The Verdict
Can Cavendish do it again? He has a great lead out and clearly has his old zip back but I think he will find one better than him in the form of stage 3 winner Merlier. He played lead out man for his teammate in stage 4 and so we have not seen him and Cavendish go head to head yet and my feeling is that with Ewan departed he is the quickest in the race.
