LEINSTER v OSPREYS

Posted 10 May 23h11

I handicapped this game Leinster -10.5 as I figured they would play a weakened side with their focus now on the Champions Cup Final. They have named a strong team though and the handicap is out to -25.5. I still think they could switch off at some stage and this Ospreys side is not a bad one.

BET: 4 Units, Ospreys +25.5 at 0.87/1 at Betxchange

MUNSTER v CONNACHT

Posted 10 May 23h02

Munster are coming off a successful trip to South Africa, where they won both their matches and they will be looking to consolidate their position in the Top 3 on the table. Connacht have plenty to play for as well though and they currently sit 7th and this handicap is very much where I placed it at -10.5. I think this could be a tight game with points at a premium and I am going to go for the unders which would have arrived in the last 8 meetings between the sides.

BET: 3 Units, Under 50.5 at 9/10 at WSB

SCARLETS v ULSTER

Posted 10 May 22h43

Both of these teams have been disappointing, although Ulster are still very much in the congested playoffs mix. The last time the Scarlets hosted Ulster there were 94 points, although I don’t expect anything quite like that, I am happy to take over 51.5 points in this one as the Scarlets have nothing to lose and Ulster will be hunting the bonus point. .

BET: 4 Units, Over 51.5 points at 9/10 at Pokerbet

WESTERN FORCE v FIJIAN DRUA

Posted 10 May 17h58

This is another game where my handicap is well out and I made the Force -8.5, but bookies make this a choice match. The Force’s last two home games has seen them beat the Crusaders and Reds and the Drua have yet to win on the road this season. I am going to stick to my guns here and suggest that the Force will win this one. I took 13/10 earlier in the week

BET: 4 Units, Force win at 21/20 at Boylesports

WARATAHS v BRUMBIES

Posted 10 May 17h55

The Brumbies let me down last week when they failed to score 36 points in what was, admittedly, wet conditions at home to the Drua, that cost me an 11/1 ACCA. The current handicap of -9.5 Brumbies is a lot bigger than the +1.5 Waratahs where I priced it up, but on giving this some thought, my handicap was clearly wrong.

The last three head-to-heads between these sides have all gone over the 50 point mark and the points line is low at 45.5 but that is due to the poor weather forecast.

That takes me back to the match result and while I acknowledge I got this handicap wrong I am going to back my initial instincts that the Waratahs can push the Brumbies in Sydney.

BET: 2 units Waratahs win at 16/5 at WSB

HIGHLANDERS v CRUSADERS

The current handicap is Highlanders +7.5 and I must say that I thought this will be closer to a choice game and capped the Highlanders +1.5 in my Sunday night exercise. The Highlanders were fairly impressive last week in beating Moana Pasifika on the road and the Crusaders failed to kick on from their nice win against the Rebels when they were beaten by the Reds at home.

I think the Highlanders have the ability to win this game, but I am going to take the more conservative play and back the handicap.

BET: 4 Units, Highlanders +7.5 at 9/10 at Pokerbet

BLUES v HURRICANES

Posted 10 May 16h31

The Blues are the current favourites to win the title and their defence in particular has impressed me this season. I handicapped this game Blues-5.5 and with the current price at -2.5 I see value in the home team.

The points line is 52.5 and overs would have arrived in 2 of their 4 home matches but only just as both ended on 53 points. I am considering an unders play on Hurricanes points and will post in the forum if I do anything

BET: 4 Units, Blues -2.5 at 9/10 at WSB

EDINBURGH V ZEBRE

Posted 10 May at 11h38

Edinburgh are very much in the playoff hunt and I expect them to make short work of Zebre.

The handicap is high at -26.5 and I am also worried about consolation tries with these high caps and will back Edinburgh for a fast start and to lead by 13 or more at the break.

The points line of 57.5 looks well set.

BET: 3 units Edinburgh -12.5 HT cap at 9/10 at Pokerbet

REDS v REBELS

Posted 00h18 10 May

The Rebels have really battled in recent weeks whereas the Reds have put in some excellent performances against New Zealand opposition. Nathan handicapped this game at -16.5 Reds and I am going to have an interest on the -14.5 currently on offer.

BET: 3 units Reds -14.5 at 9/10 at Betxchange

MOANA PASIFIKA V CHIEFS

Posted 00h12 10 May

There was some support for Moana at +30.5 levels and with loads of changes to both teams this could be a tricky betting heat. Both Chris and Nathan were in the Chiefs camp on last nights show and in a week where I have been travelling and unable to study form that is good enough for me.

BET: 3 units Chiefs -27.5 at 1.96/1 at Betxchange
