champs.leagueIt's semi final time in the Uefa Champions League and Tuesday's night's game sees Real Madrid boast home advantage in the first leg of their clash with Chelsea.

Real Madrid v Chelsea

Real are paired with English opposition again after a 3-1 aggregate win over Liverpool in the quarter finals. Real took control of that tie with a 3-1 win (brace for Vinicius) in the first leg before playing out a goalless draw in the return at Anfield.

In the last 16 Real completed a 4-1 aggregate win over Atalanta. In the first leg they eventually made their numerical advantage count, scoring the only goal of the game late on and Atalanta played with 10 men from the 17th minute onwards. Real then finished the job with a 3-1 win in the return in Madrid.

Real were knocked out by Manchester City on away goals in last season's Champions League Round of 16.

Real are still involved in the La Liga title race but they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Betis at the weekend. At the time of writing Real were 2 points behind league leaders Atletico who were due to play their game in hand on Sunday night.

Seville was the neutral venue for both legs of Chelsea's quarter final match up with Porto. Chelsea took control after a 2-0 win in the first leg thanks to goals from Mason Mount and Chilwell and although they lost the second leg 1-0 they went through 2-1 on aggregate.

Chelsea's Round of 16 match up with Atletico Madrid looked likely to be tight but Chelsea won both legs, 1-0 in Madrid and then 2-0 in London.

Chelsea's Premier League form has been rock solid with just 1 defeat under Thomas Tuchel and a 1-0 win at West Ham at the weekend saw them retain fourth spot in the standings. Chelsea also have an FA Cup Final against Leicester to look forward to at the end of the season.

The Betting

Real are currently trading at around 27/20 to win the first leg with the draw at 21/10 and Chelsea can also be backed at around 21/10

A game of 3 goals or more is 11/10 and it's 17/20 for both teams to score.

To qualify for the final under any method of victory Real are priced at 15/20 and Chelsea are even money

The winner of this tie will face PSG or Manchester City in the final and o win the Champions League outright this season Real are trading at around 7/2 and

Chelsea are 4/1

Verdict:

Real's home form in the knockout rounds is impressive and they also beat Barcelona 2-1 in a recent El Clasico in Madrid but Chelsea have been a very solid defensive unit since Tuchel took over and will take some breaking down..

As far as the match result is concerned a draw in this first leg makes most appeal. I wouldn't rule out a Chelsea goal and additional interest comes in the shape of the visitors to score 1 goal exactly.

Bets: 1st Leg draw at 21/10

Chelsea total goals, 1 exactly at 15/10
