realmadridUefa Champions League Groups A to D conclude on Wednesday and we take a look at the betting for selected matches including Salzburg v Atletico Madrid, Ajax v Atalanta and Real Madrid v Monchengaldbach

Group A

Bayern Munich are already assured of top spot in this group and they will be joined by either Atletico Madrid or Salzburg.

Atletico head to Salzburg needing to avoid defeat to clinch the runners up spot. They are going great guns in La Liga, unbeaten with 8 wins and 2 draws but Champions League form has been way below par. The Madrid side crashed 4-0 at Bayern on Matchday 1, repaired some of the damage with a 3-2 win over Salzburg and then played out 3 consecutive draws including back to back games against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Salzburg's 4 points in this group came from a 2-2 draw at home to Lokomotiv and most recently a 3-1 win in the return in Moscow. They performed with credit in the first meeting with Atletico and all of their group matches plus 2 qualifiers have seen backers of over 2.5 goals collect.

Ateltico are 12/10 to win the game which on La Liga form looks attractive although bear in mind a draw would also suffice. Salzburg have to be positive so there should be chances for the visitors and Felix Joao, who has been in the goals in this competition is an anytime goalscorer pick for Atletico

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Felix Joao at 17/10

Group B

Group B is led by Monchengaldbach with 8 points, 1 clear of Shakhtar and Real Madrid and Inter Milan have 5 points and could still make the top 2. The permutations of who needs what to go through are best explained on the Uefa website.

Monchengaldbach need to avoid defeat away to Real Madrid whilst the La Liga side need to win. It can get more complex depending on how the other match goes but working on the most basic scenario it would be win or bust for Real who tripped up 2-0 at Shakhtar last time out. That result brought huge criticism but Real did bounce back with a 1-0 win at Sevilla in La Liga and I expect them to get the job done. There have been at least 4 goals in all of Monchengaldbach's group matches and I will settle for a home win and 3 in total here.

Bets: Real Madrid to win and over 2.5 total match goals at 23/20

Group C

Manchester City and Porto have nailed qualification from this group which is swerved from a betting perspective

Group D

Liverpool will top this group and hence the focus is on the clash between Ajax and Atalanta in Amsterdam.

Only a win will do for Ajax whilst Atalanta need a draw, the same outcome as when the teams met in Italy on Matchday 2. That game finished 2-2 (Ajax were 2-0 up) and not long after that Atalanta's overall form dipped with the exception of a 2-0 win at Liverpool on Matchday 4 when Klopp fielded a weakened side.

Ajax lost both matches to Liverpool by a 1-0 scoreline but they come into the game as favourites at around 13/10. The goals markets suggest we should see plenty and whilst I wouldn't disagree I'm looking deep into the exotics to find a price in my usual range.

The betting interest comes in the shape of both sides to score in the second half.

Bets: Ajax v Atalanta 2nd half both teams to score? (yes) at 13/10
